Based on the reviews, Smokin Stan's BBQ is a gem in Norfolk with adorable barbecue decor and plenty of indoor seating plus a covered patio. The meat is not pre-sauced, but there are 3 sauces at the table that are sticky, flavorful, and not ketchup-like. The portions are huge. The burnt ends have so much flavor and enough to fill you up. The brisket is so tender that it falls apart when serving, with perfect seasoning that lets the meat and smoke shine. The pulled pork has perfect texture, fall-apart tender with little bits of bark and clean smoke flavor. The ribs are perfect, and the mac and cheese is simple yet so good. The pork, chicken, and ribs are delicious. The sampler platter features full scale sandwiches that are extremely delicious. The Dream Platter is a good meal. The service is friendly and fast, and the prices are more than reasonable. The food is amazing for catering, with everything so juicy and flavorful. For a small mom & pop place, the BBQ is true craftsmanship where no sauce is needed because the product speaks for itself.
