Charlie's On the Lake Reviews
Made a reservation over the phone…. Happened to call in day of… and the reservation was cancelled on the app! What app! I made the reservation on the phone! Manager wouldn’t do anything to take care of us! Will never go there again!!
The quality of their food has gone significantly down hill. Ordered King Crab legs. They were tough and chewy and they served them with a plastic appetizer fork. Also ordered a steak. The steak came out rare, unseasoned and 1/3 of it was gristle. Used to be my favorite spot. Won’t be returning. You can’t charge top dollar for bad food.
Friendly staff and great Martini’s. I think people get sticker shock seeing the martini price but you get the shaker which pours pretty much two martini’s and they are very strong. You get your money’s worth. I have been going to Charlie’s since it opened and the new owner has bought it back to its glory days. Charlie's On the Lake is a waterfront restaurant featuring a small patio area that provides a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for enjoying views of the lake. The patio can accommodate around 30-35 people and often gets busy. Inside, the restaurant has a dark wood design that can feel loud and overwhelming due to poor lighting. The furniture is showing its age and could use some updating, while the bathrooms are in need of renovation. The food is generally considered "okay," with good portion sizes, but attention to detail is sometimes lacking. The kitchen has a reputation for serving underseasoned and overcooked fries. Service can be slow but attentive; however, some staff members have been noted for their unfriendly demeanor. The new owner has revitalized the restaurant, bringing it back to its glory days. Guests can enjoy a dinner made from amazing appetizers or order a traditional Charlie’s lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with great and strong martinis available. They are willing to address any issues that arise. Recent reviews highlight enjoyable dishes such as prime rib, ribeye steaks, mussels, escargot, scallops, grouper, and house salads. The food preparations are handled carefully, and many guests have praised the overall dining experience, making it a family favorite for some.
