I made reservations for my husband’s 60th birthday, as we had never been there. Drove to Omaha and when we arrived, the restaurant was CLOSED!! No sign on the door as to why. Just a dark restaurant!! I suggest if you’re going to close for the day, you shouldn’t take reservations, or consider contacting people who do have a reservation to let them know!! All I got was a confirmation text a few hours before our reservation time. P.S. it wasn’t weather related.
First visit. Everything we ordered exceeded expectations. As for service... I hope you get Connor. FANTASTIC. So nice to actually luck out with good wait staff.

Drinks, food, service...best Saturday afternoon lunch in a long time. Crazy good. Proper grits. Went with 2 other people and we all got different dishes. ALL of it was great. Not good, great!

Wow! Just WOW! Our lunchtime experience started with the host Connor who was SO welcoming! You get a vibe from a restaurant right when you walk in. (Looking at you, Timbers in Nebraska City!) I ordered the wings and also the Gouda ale soup. I also tried the boudin balls, etoufee and Gouda mac and cheese and am SO pleased with every dish! We also had Conner as our server who just made a good day better! Excellent service!
So nice to see that some restaurants still know how to season food! Praying this place stays open forever because I will be back again and again

We have enjoyed several dinners at the Old Market location. This was our first time to the West Omaha location.
The food was as always, spot on. Both my husband and I ordered kickin' chicken pasta with a side of Jambalaya. Which is an excessive amount of food, but the left overs are so good.
Portion sizes are generous. Sauce is deliciously spicy. Not for the faint of heart for sure. The pasta was perfectly prepared. Even the garlic toast is good. Just what the sauce needs by its side.
The Jambalaya is a perfect 10. It is the 3 am craving kind of good. Just the right amount of flavorful, tender meat to rice ratio.
They have a nice selection of adult beverages. Some local beer, along with the regulars. The serve Coke products. A plus in my opinion.
Our waitress Amy, was excellent. I overheard her describing menu items to a new customer who was seated next to us. She was very knowledgeable about the flavors and her recommendations were spot on.
The Hostess with an attitude and a 3% service charge for using a credit card was the only things about our dinner that was not perfect or expected.
Next time the bread pudding is coming on our 35 mile trip home with us for breakfast the next day. It looks amazing.

I thought the etouffee was incredible.
It’s first time I’ve ever tried etouffee anywhere so I’m no expert but I sure like it.
The crab dip was just as good as far as I’m concerned.
Red Beans and Rice was not too bad but didn’t blow my doors off and Jambalaya was just decent too but I’d definitely order either one again as it’s still pretty good and probably just not as exciting as I ate the etouffee first and it just overshadowed everything else.
I’ll go back for sure and I dang sure left full.
Recommend this place to anyone!!

Do NOT go to this location! They were unwelcoming and did not want to seat my family! Everyone had an attitude!

I came to mouth of the south to enjoy a nice dinner with my family and as soon as I walked in I felt unwelcomed as a black family the service was terrible it seemed as though they didn’t want to help us. Do NOT go to this location!

The food is always amazing here. I originally came for the bottomless mimosas, but not one dish has failed. (Bottomless here is LEGIT, and currently the least expensive in all of Omaha. They have never let my glass get empty, which is no small feat.) The brunch band is cool and an interesting change from most of the live music in Omaha, but it's a bit loud for such a small venue. I recommend sitting near the bar if you're not there for the music and you want to talk to your companions. We have been there with our kids, and they were happy with the menu. The kitchen is also very accommodating, as we have one person with an extreme shellfish allergy and another with Celiac. Thus far, we've not had any issues. I look forward to my next brunch at MotS.

I'm from the South and this place is not a representation of anything where I'm from. The food lacks seasoning and flavor. You can tell this is southern food in the Midwest. There's no spice or kick to plates that should have some intense heat. The waitresses at both locations lack a sense of urgency. I waited nearly 20min at the West O location before even being offered a menu or drinks. That was intentional. Let's just say, for a southern cuisine restaurant y'all don't seem too fond of ppl that have melanin in their skin, ironic isn't it... Go to Popeyes and get their spicy tenders meal instead. Oh... their Boudin Balls tasted nothing like they should have.

It seems every time we go it is never as good as the last. This year we went for my husband’s birthday. We made a reservation and our table was ready when we got there. Our server started out good, but was hard to get her attention throughout the meal. Portions have shrunk over the last couple visits. Bottomless lemonade is no longer bottomless. $1 refills. We had the Cajun burger, kickin chicken pasta, mac n cheese burgers, gumbo, and jambalaya and boudin balls. Cajun burger had no flavor, jambalaya was super dry and very dark. My sons loved their burgers. The boudin balls came with very little sauce. My husband and I both ordered their house side salads which are always tasty but they brought his out with the apps and mine came out with the food. And they are much smaller than they used to be. I guess it’s hit or miss but for the prices the portions should be better and the service needs to improve. Not sure if we will return which is sad because this used to be one of our favs and a regular pick for a night out.

The flavor was really good. I thought they were very pricey and should be about 4 dollar signs rather than 2. The gumbo was good but could be thicker. I really don’t want to complain but just give an honest review. I had the shrimp po boy and honestly it was meh. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. I would definitely come again and try something else on the menu.
Vegetarian options: The Lord made everything for food for us so it seems weird to be vegetarian unless you are forced to by some health issue. You’re better off being carno. If you want to avoid something avoid carbs, at least that is supported by science.
Dietary restrictions: I could go on a strictly Cajun diet.
Kid-friendliness: Po boys for your po kids. Very friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: Roll up.
