We love to go to Farmer Browns with friends. It's fun to get away from the city for an evening and step back into the past a bit. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better. You'll definitely want to go early, though, or be prepared to grab a drink and chat because there's always a wait. Well worth it. :)

Service from our waitress was fantastic. She was energetic and extremely insightful. My steak was a bit overcooked but it still tasted good so no hurt feelings.

The prime rib sandwich was delicious again. I got onion rings on second visit instead of potato with green beans, and salad. A family favorite for years. This place has been in business for 60 yrs with some of the same employees which one of the owners mentioned to me. Not open for lunch on Sunday or Monday. Both times I ordered the prime rib to go as I arrived around 1 p.m. and close at 2 p.m. for lunch. My new go to place since moving back to the area!

One of the last legendary Omaha steak houses. And you have to actually drive slightly west of Omaha to get it. Worth the trip though. Suggest reservations for weekends or large parties over 4. We had a party of 8 on a Thursday night and was able to sit at a large round table so everyone could eat and engage in conversation during the evening. There is not blaring music, tvs nor dancing staff but you will get one of the best steaks you have ever had.
Meal and a couple adult drinks, figure on 30-50 per person.

Had a really disappointing experience here yesterday. Tried to make a reservation for my party of 6 that was celebrating a monumental birthday milestone a few days ago and was told that they don’t take reservations, so I asked when the best day would be to come. Was told Tuesdays were not very busy. So we went Tuesday for dinner service and it was PACKED. Told a 30 minute wait, ended up being an hour before we got sat down. Whatever, it happens. That alone wasn’t a big deal. We get to the table, ordered our drinks and food. 30 minutes pass and we still don’t have our drinks or meals, not a big deal for the food as that takes time and we figured they were just cooking the plates. But then the waitress comes back and says they ran out of prime rib so we have to order something else. Which is the whole reason why we went to this restaurant, every single person except the child ordered the prime rib. So we ended up all having to select other meals as it was too late at that point to go somewhere else. Our drinks were finally brought to us after 45 minutes of waiting for them. Food was brought out after about an hour of sitting down. Steaks were overcooked to medium when we ordered medium rare, no red meat just pink and brown. Baked potatoes and asparagus wasn’t fully cooked through. Waters were left empty. When nobody was eating their food, it wasn’t asked why and to go boxes were brought instead. I get that they were unprepared for dinner service yesterday but in situations like that, and maybe it’s wrong for me to think this way, but I feel like if it doesn’t meet the standards they pride themselves on it should be discounted or a voucher for us to come back and try them out again in the future, and it was not. Maybe it would have if I asked but after 3 hours of disappointment we were just ready to leave.

We will definitely be going back! The food was awesome and the staff were very nice and attentive. My husband said it was the best prime rib he’s had at a restaurant.

Prime rib’s legit. Crispy fat cap, pink middle, sliced thick like they actually care. Didn’t need the au jus but used it anyway because that’s the rule. Service was no-nonsense, in a good way. You’re not getting pampered, but you’re not being ignored either.

And yeah, they offer spaghetti as a side. No clue why, but I respect it. Must be a Midwest thing. Like someone’s grandma insisted it stay on the menu and nobody questioned it. Tastes exactly how you’d expect, and somehow it works.

Five stars. Meat’s solid, vibe’s simple, and you leave full enough to regret dessert. Would absolutely go back.
