Fantastic spot with a great ambience, especially during fall leaf season. Lots of things 86ed off the menu but we came later. No big deal the food was fantastic.

We went there on Sunday. It was very busy, I heard more than usual because of a tiktok post. They ran out of some items, that's how unexpectedly busy they were. I saw a lot of people leaving because of that. We waited more than a hour to get our lobster rolls and fish and chips. After that long I asked about our order. They gaves us 45 minutes upon ordering. We were told someone else ate our food. Things happen, no biggie. My buttered roll was very good. My garlic fries were hard and room temperature. Seems to me they were fried for a bit before hitting my plate. We got to eat our food on the top deck. Nice view even though 2 pine are blocking a greater view. My husband loved their lemon shandy. Staff was pleasant. It's was an overall good experience but if someone asked me if it's worth driving 2 hours (we did!) I would say no.

Hands down best lobster roll. Came with so much lobster meat, we almost didn’t finish. We got the last scoop of the pumpkin ice cream of the season and it was delicious.

My friends and I just stopped here after a 10 mile hike at Mt. Washington. The food was heaven sent. I got the Gen Ed. burger with fries and it was PERFECT. So juicy, so fresh, so delicious. AND!! The ladies who served us today (cashier and cooks) were so sweet :,). I’m so happy we stopped here for food after hours of hiking. ❤️

Dynamite! Loved it. The guys had the hot buttered lobster rolls. The ladies had the clam plate. Everyone got onion rings and slaw. And the clam chowder. Remarkably good. As good as we’ve had anywhere. Counter service. Bus your own. Plastic silverware. No problem. Doesn’t pretend to be anything other than an iconic destination with Excellent! food. Loved it. Keep up the good work, folks. You get a solid 5/5 from us!!

This place was awesome! I would love to come in the summer to experience the food and the view. It was raining when I went, but the food made up for it.

YES! The lobster rolls are delicious! They look small but are jam-packed with a generous portion of lobster meat! The Haddock plate was spot on! Perfect pick when looking for a unique eatery experience! Recommend to visit here in the peak summer season. Otherwise the porch is buttoned up in plastic screening, blocking any chance at a view. Parking is TIGHT... leave the pick up truck at home! Very, very long wait to receive food, and limited seating. They were out of several items on the menu, including soft drinks. The top porch was poorly lit and very cold after 5pm. Will visit again next season!

Over Columbus Day weekend, we like to take a trip north to see the changing leaves in Vermont or New Hampshire. This year, we decided we would head to Campton, NH to try out The Little Red Schoolhouse. We weren't alone. It was their last day of service for the season, and the line snaked around the building. Parking was an additional challenge, and that was only the beginning. We waited in line for about a half hour watching and listening as they declared certain menu items gone, no bacon, no fried shrimp or scallops, no clam chowder. But when we got to the head of the line we got the worst news: the wait once we ordered would be two hours! I don't like waiting in line for things. I really didn't like the idea of waiting around for two hours once I ordered. The couple in front of us bailed altogether. I had noticed other people quitting the line as we got closer. But I didn't have a plan B, so we decided to wait. We were going to go for a drive, but instead just decided to sit in the car for a bit. It's a good thing we did because the two hour wait was only about forty minutes, still long, but much more manageable. From the time we started looking for parking to the time I took a bite was about an hour and a half. The food was good, but nothing worth a ninety minute wait or a two hour drive. I got the A+ Lobster Roll which was more of a B+, but generous with lots of claw meat. The bun was very good, points for that. The garlic fries were good but cold. I'm not sure if that had to do with the air temperature or the crowds. The fish in the fish sandwich nice and my son's grilled cheese was excellent. Their tartar sauce wins points too. The view is pretty, particularly from the upper deck, but we had a table a little farther back so we were looking past people to see the mountains and the valley. And the leaves aren't far along in their annual transformation this year so it was less impressive than I had hoped for. In the end, I'm glad I gave it a try but given the distance and the wait, it isn't something I'd go back to. Bottom line the food is decent (3 stars) and the view bumps it up to a 4, but the wait drags it back down to a 3.
