We went this August for the first time and will definitely be back!
Best tasting lobster bisque I ever had and best lobster butter roll.
They were experiencing a complete rush at 1:30 in the afternoon and the manager was nice and funny about it and the food came out relatively quickly for how many people flooded into this little restaurant!
Go!
My husband and I are from Illinois and came to The Little Red Schoolhouse on our New England trip last week—it was absolutely amazing and I’m still thinking about that lobster roll. One of the best we had on our trip hands down, and we had a lot! It was affordable, fresh, and the portion was much larger than we got on the coast. The Little Red Schoolhouse, LLC is a charming restaurant known for its rustic atmosphere and friendly counter service. It offers outstanding seafood, especially lobster rolls, with both traditional and hot butter options that are very good. The outdoor upstairs seating provides incredible views, especially during foliage season, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal after a hike or before heading down the Kanc. The beer selection is solid, and the staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. While the menu options are limited and wait times can be long during busy times, the food is generally delicious, including their fish and chips and garlic fries. The top deck offers a nice view but can get quite crowded. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to enjoy good food and beautiful scenery, though some may find the wait and limited menu not worth a long drive.
