I commend Rubbin' Butts for holding off and not raising their prices for months. Unfortunately, my most recent trip for take out was very disappointing. I got a half chicken which was not freshly smoked and might have been leftover from the previous week. It was starting to smell rancid, was extremely dry and rubbery. The brisket was probably one third fat, which I don't understand if they hand slice to order, you can see the amount of fat that is being served. A little is expected, but not as much as i received. Disappointing of all was the "nachos", one of my favorites. No shredded cheddar as indicated on their menu,, limited amount of pulled pork and an up charge for extra onions of which there were no extra. I'll bring this to their attention the next time I go since I don't live locally to them.EDIT-I did email the company as requested along with a follow up email, but I've not heard anything back.

I got two items to go: service was excellent. Clean place with a few tables. 1/2# beef brisket and one slice carrot cake. The brisket - two slices - is very tasty and peppery, but had a lot of fat. Fortunately, I could trim off the fat. Two small lunches for me; $24.99/#. The carrot cake is good, heavy cake, no raisins (yay!l) and walnuts either only on the outside edge. Frosting is whipped. Good sized serving for $5. Free parking. I'd return to try the pulled pork.

Very disappointing. The ribs were terrible. The food was cold. The potatoe salad was the worst I ever had - uncooked potatoes. Over all the sides were terrible.

We've driven by a bunch of times, but never stopped in. Finally tried it out and wow! I'm not a huge fan of BBQ, but this place was fantastic! The unbelievable smoked smell hits you the second you walk in. Cute spot with a few seats to sit down. Very flavorful brisket and pulled pork. Decent prices. Friendly staff, too. Highly recommend!

Unbelievable food, great service, not too expensive, worth every penny. The only downside to this place is that I only get to eat here once a year!

I have had tons of BBQ form all over. I have lived in the Carolina's and Texas. The bbq had good flavor but.... I ordered a pound of pulled pork and half of it was just fat. I have never had so much fat in pulled pork. Then I asked for some pickles and they wanted to charge me for the pickles. I kind of expected to to have to pay for extra bbq sauce but that was free. The kielbasa was good and the BBB sandwich was decent. Once again half of the brisket they put on top was fat and the pulled pork was very fatty. I do not plan on returning for this reason.

We were passing through Center Harbor just about lunch time, while on our way to Maine. Rubbin' Butts had been on my list to try for quite some time. This was the perfect opportunity. We were surprised that it didn't look very busy. There were a lot of empty tables; however, we became aware of the steady flow of people in and out. Most of the traffic was for take out. Because of that, I figured the locals probably had it figured out. No surprises on the menu, and they also had a lot of salads in containers ready to go. We decided to order in. It is counter service, and the folks working were really helpful and friendly. I ordered the B.B.B- pork brisket & sausage sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. She had the corn bread side & I had the potato salad. There was a large portion of BBQ on both sandwiches, such that it was a little difficult to eat without eating some of the meat first. The rolls were large, so both my wife and I agreed that although delicious, it was a lot of bread. We would have been much better off ordering the plate, which comes with two sides and is only a couple of dollars more. Rubbin' Butts is certainly worth visiting again.

We have only had take out from here, so I can't comment on the service aside from picking up at the counter. That said, it's always been a fast and efficient process and the food has been consistently good. We've had ribs and pulled pork, and have had Mac & cheese and the broccoli salad for sides. The corn bread is fantasy-- it's always a disappointment when they run out of the plain and only have jalapeño left. Definitely recommend for a fast, convenient and high quality take out meal for the whole family.
