50 Best American Restaurants near Hampstead

“Jamison's in Hampstead, NH for a few pints & one of the biggest most badass burgers I have had in months. What ended up being a great recommendation from a friend, it was near the other spot I had planned for the day so I figured I'd swing through. I had passed this place in my travels plenty of times, but had never seen it from the road since it was a little tucked back. The tap list here was great as well for a small tavern, not the largest amount of taps, although it was really diverse with styles. They had some New England staples like FIDDLEHEAD IPA from Fiddlehead Brewing Company, THE SUBSTANCE from Bissell Brothers, CLOUD CANDY IPA from Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. & more. They had everything from lagers, pilsners & pale ales to IPA's, sours & stouts, but let's get into the three pints I grabbed. 🍻🍻🔥☘

I started off with a pint of the BELGIAN WHITE from Blue Moon Brewing Company. I was feeling like a witbier & it was on special for $5 so why not. I then moved onto a couple beers I hadn't had starting with the LAWN BOY Pale Lager from Tilted Barn Brewery. I'm a big fan of pale lagers & this one was as delicious of a example of the style as you can get. My final pint was THE PERFECT SLICE IPA from Belleflower Brewing, these guys usually kill the IPA game & this was another solid hoppy & fruity offering. 🍻🍺🔥❄☘

Now let me tell you about one of the sexiest burgers I've seen in recent memory, The Slaughterhouse. It was a hefty piece of fried chicken, cheeseburger, bacon & maple fig glaze on a house roll. I had to press it down & compact it just to get a proper bite of this beast. At a whopping $28 it was well worth it, I didn't eat anything for thirty-two hours after just to allow my body time to recover. The bar here was pretty big & the dining room had plenty of seating options including hightops & tables with a big projector screen for sports and events. There was a function hall attached for big parties as well. The bartender was super friendly & accommodating & the whole place had a simple, but chill vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a new cool spot, cheers!

“Had work lunch catered with a couple day notice. They helped me plan my menu, gave me ideas. It was so easy. Food was ready and hot when I picked it up. What a hit, there was barely anything left and people kept coming up to me saying how wonderful it was. The fried chicken is always delish but boy was the chicken parm and other foods amazing!!! “The menu here is fantastic! We started with apps: the charcuterie “Parlay Board”, and perfectly cooked mussels in garlic/wine sauce, and the street corn dip with chips — all were outstanding. My favorite dish was the poached lobster & chicharrones tacos (unique and delicious!). Our table also ordered the rigatoni bolognese and the chicken cutlet parm — both perfectly prepared and full of flavor.

From food to service to atmosphere, everything was spot-on. Everyone in our party left happy, and we can’t wait to come back!“

“Had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner here. Everything was awesome! Chicken wings, shrimp Alfredo and chicken pot pie was all sooo good. Dinner rolls were to die for. However, the highlight of the evening was our awesome waiter Aaron! So polite, funny and attentive, even recommended a dessert (Mississippi mud pie) which did not disappoint!“

“Had a fantastic birthday celebration for a family member at Dreo! We had an amazing night from the moment we walked in the door to finishing desert. Lisa, our server greeted us promptly, and reviewed the drink and dinner specials with us. The drinks were amazing and we ordered the charcuterie plate for the table. So good! Everyone loved their meals, especially the shrimp linguini dinner special. Everything was cooked perfect. Desert was great including a decadent chocolate cake for the birthday celebration. Service by Lisa was impeccable and we can't wait to go back!“

“Went to Fody’s for dinner on a Monday night. Downstairs was closed for a private event. We went up to the bar. You seat yourself. Waitress who seemed like she was also tending bar came over promptly. She was friendly and took our drink orders. Sangria was very good. It was made well, not just wine with a piece of fruit.

Chicken tenders with sweet chili were delicious, we wish there were more. Cheese pizza cooked perfectly with good cheese but sauce needed a bit more flavor. Overall a decent pie. Nashua hot chicken sandwich was tasty only critique is to use a grilled bun instead of bread. It needed a bit more bulky bread to hold it together.

Prices are decent. Place is older but clean. It was comfortable and welcoming. We will be back to try other dishes.“

“My husband took me here last night for our Aniversary. He knows I love duck. We were greeted at the door and sat us right away. Our waiter Andrew kept us content with making sure everything was fine with the appetizers drinks entrees and the dessert. The food was amazing. The duck was excellent and my husband's short ribs were delicious. I would definitely go back again. We went early and still made reservations which I suggest you make as I heard this place gets packed on the weekends.“

“My wife and I were in the area. Stopped for a late breakfast. Spacious, clean and friendly. Decor was local, natural and fun. Loved the light covers that appeared to be blue sky with occasional puffy clouds. Nice touch. Our server was amazing. Im not sure how her name is spelled but I think it was close to Ava (ah-va). Super friendly, good humor, very attentive. I did not have to ask for any of my 3 coffee refills. :) but not overly aggressive. I love dipping my toast in over easy eggs. First bite was noticeably good. I know you think eggs are eggs but my wife got scrambled and had the same reaction. Yum. Toast was hot and crispy. Bacon thick cut and crispy not burned. Average sausage patty. Thin ham with crispy edge was a nice difference. French toast was thick buttery with a healthy cinnamon taste. Home fries crispy with a light seasoning. And hollandaise was thick not oily. Prices were competitive not the cheapest but certainly not to expensive. GREAT breakfast :)“

Having made a reservation for a mercy meal at the deceased favorite restaurant, the 14 of us were divided into 2 booths and 2 adjoining tables. We were unable to talk and thank all our family for showing up. We were very disappointed in the setup as they weren't very busy. We could have actually been all put together in a long row of tables. The food is very good and consistent, as I visit both locations regularly. I definitely will never come with a larger group than 4 people.“

“Pica’s is our go-to spot!! We cannot say enough good things about Pica’s!! The staff is top tier, they are all super friendly, they make us feel welcome the moment we walk through the door! We attend Music Bingo every Tuesday night, some of our favorite waitresses Rae, Kallie and Ella provide great service, a great atmosphere and create an exciting experience that keeps us coming back each week. The food is always delicious no matter what we order but we do love the burgers, chicken barb sandwiches and especially those cinnamon maple donuts!! We love Pica’s and Music Bingo nights so much that my daughter even comes home from college to attend them with us!! We have noticed that employees even come in on there days off to enjoy a meal at Pica’s because that is just the kind of community feel that Pica’s has!! We love Pica’s!!“

You think of the basics and then you are fine. This is not high end cuisines. This is good old basics that everyone of any age enjoys. You can go alone and sit at the bar, or go with a groupo and get a booth. This is fine. The menu is extensive so will find something to have from pancakes to waffles to French toast, to chicken and fires. Try an omelets and it is ideal with a good selection to try. \n\nWhatever you select the portion is French. The food is tasty and traditional. The price is ideal. And the staff is excellent. They know what they are doing and how to help.\n\nMarryAnn's Diner is a good change from cooking at home. Try it for breakfast or lunch.
