“Funky unique little brewery, like you'll find all over New England. Just about everything they make is an IPA, which may be a good thing to some, but I kind of hate really hoppy beers and wish the IPA trend would die already. To each their own I suppose. That's not to say I didn't like my beer. When I mentioned to the bartender I was an IPA-hater, he said "try this" and poured me a sip of something. Turns out it was their "can't sell dope forever", which he described as not being like an IPA. He was right, this was delicious. Hmm, maybe not all IPAs suck...

My partner likes sours and Kolsch beers, and Modestman does those as well. She was happy with her selection also.

We stopped by on Saturday around noon on a sunny warm day, and ordered a pizza for lunch. Wow, was that a good pizza! They have a little tiny pizza oven and turn out fantastic Neopolitan-style pies to go with your beer. Blistered and slightly charred, crispy but still chewy, and just enough quality toppings.

The rear patio space was a nice surprise, and dog friendly.

Since we live a short walk away, I'm sure we'll be back. If you're looking for a cold drink and a warm snack some lazy warm afternoon, stop in at Modestman.“

“Was just driving by on my way to VT and saw the sign. So glad I stopped in. Beertender was super friendly and welcoming. The ambience is super chill and relaxing, and the beer absolutely holds up to the setting. Had the Velvety Antlers Brown Ale which was smooth and delicious, the the Gose Well With Hiking is probably my new favorite gose. Grabbed a 4 to go, will definitely have to venture up here again and catch some live music. I go to a lot of breweries - this is my favorite random find in a very long time. Cheers!“
