We were in the area for 2 weeks visiting family & friends. Some family suggested Gusano’s for dinner & drinks so we met there. Seated quickly and our drink order was taken quickly as well. Appetizers were ordered and were very good. Atmosphere was good. Dinners were ordered and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. I’ve been eating Mexican food in the San Diego, LA, and Phoenix areas for 60 years so I know Mexican food. Tried some pozole to test it…...
I’m uploading videos of Gusanoz’ infamous tequila flight, which I have long wanted to try. As well as a review of each of the margaritas tasted in the flight. We also enjoyed a dessert: the house made churros. These are sweet and taste like carnival food. They look like mozzarella sticks instead of the crunchy long, narrow pinwheel shapes. This must be a churros recipe specific to the region in Mexico these are inspired by. I also tried the pork carnitas for the first time....
The food was amazing. The staff is very accommodating and went above and beyond to seat our large party. Large menu for food and drink. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return.
