After living in Texas for 15 years, my husband and I have tried Texas style BBQ places in dozens of states. Few come close to what we had down south, none have ever truly compared and R & J have managed to surpass even some of our Southern Favorites.The chicken was perfectly cooked. The food was amazing. We expected it to be good but our expectations were greatly exceeded. Not your run-of-the-mill Cisco frozen food you find in most modern establishments. This is the real deal, home-cooked, farm to table dining, at its best. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back again. Great portions too!
Just went to this restaurant in Hillsboro for the first time, but it will definitely not be our last! Everything was delicious! From the complimentary hot cornbread, to the soup appetizers (we tried the gumbo and the bell pepper soup; yum!), to the meats (we loved the brisket, chicken, and grilled shrimp), to the sides (my favorite was the homemade sweet potato fries).
