On a whim we saw the sign for Peter Christian's Tavern off 89 and decided to try it on our way to Vermont. what a wonderful place. Quaint and cozy. The beef stew is something not to be missed, heavenly flavors. The seafood stew was packed with seafood. The Sheppard pie was tasty and comforting. so worth the stop on every level! Thank you for a delicious meal.
My second visit here. First time I ate at a high table in the bar area, a convivial spot if you enjoy that atmosphere. This time we ate in the dining room where you have a choice of tables or booths. The waitresses are young, probably high school ages, but very friendly and working hard with a smile. My wife had the chowder and found it tasty with few potatoes and lots of seafood. Heard from many friends and family that I needed to try this restaurant. With all the hype, it had a lot to live up to. My food ended up being sub par compared to my expectations, and although there are not many options in the area, this is not one of my favorites. Perhaps I will return to give them another shot in the future.
