one of the loveliest places I have ever seen. the owner is absolutely beyond gorgeous and the whole place is wonderful vibes and cute.
We had our first meal at The Riverworks tonight and it was DELICIOUS! The meals were impeccable, and every time someone else’s food went past our table we said, “That looks SO GOOD!”. The staff were wonderful and attentive. It was so clean inside. And the food…. Ohmygoodness. Just go there now!
Riverworks is the best overall restaurant in Newmarket. Marcy and Scott are experts in their craft, and care about their patrons! Their staff is happy because they feel appreciated by ownership and that is everything in a small restaurant business.

The Riverworks Restaurant and Tavern in Newmarket, NH, is a beloved local spot with a rich history dating back to 1983. Housed in one of the town’s best-preserved brick buildings, it has a charming interior with wood-paneled walls, a tin ceiling, and natural wood tables, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant offers a diverse menu and a strong focus on craft beers, featuring a decent tap list that includes Guinness Draught, PALE ALE from Tuckerman Brewing Company, and four beers from Moat Mountain Brewing Company in cans. The beer selection is complemented by a creative cocktail menu, enjoyed alongside a variety of food options.
Guests frequently praise the food, describing it as consistently good with several standout dishes. The Riverworks Classic burger is a house favorite, with fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, RW sauce, and cheddar on a sesame seed bun, served with fries. Other popular items include steak tips, backed haddock, and the Reuben with real corned beef. The chicken tenders are noted for their size and quality, while the French Onion soup is described as hot and flavorful. Additionally, the oysters with house vinaigrette and horseradish dip are a hit. For those with dietary restrictions, the restaurant offers gluten-free and vegetarian options, and staff are accommodating and attentive to food restrictions.
