i don't recommend the place overall but the staff were nice and did prep a mobile order promptly. products are pretty subpar overall and deals aren't crazy. 1.5 stars rounding up to 2.

Ernie (an employee usually at the entrance checking receipts) is one of the kindest people I have met. He always asks my children and I how we are and has a kind smile. A true gentleman! I love the bakery selection. The value is excellent for quality products. We shop here for our 4H club needs, as well as personal. We have been loyal customers for years, but Ernie is the reason I took the time to write a review.

On a previous visit I had clipped a dozen or so online coupons as the item's shelf tag stated to do to get a discounted price. That in itself is not easy to do scrolling through 100+ items on my iPhone to find the items. Not paying attention until I got home, I noticed on the receipt that none of the on-line coupons were applied. But I let it go....that time! Today I go to the store and as I'm going around, the item's shelf tag tells me to do the same thing...clip the on-line coupon to get the discounted price. So I scroll through 212 items to find the several items that have coupons and clip away. At the checkout the same thing happens, no coupon credits. After going around with the cashier who's trying to figure out why it's not working, she and I go to the service desk. The clerk at the service desk informs us you can click the coupons in the store, but it takes some time for the coupons to hit your BJ's membership. She stated it can take15-20 minutes. Thinking we just wasted 30 minutes, the cashier and I go back to the register, she voids the entire order and re-enters it. But again no coupons. Not only is this false advertising, but ripe for a class action law suit! The service desk clerk expressed her frustration with a promo they have going right now where if you buy 4 specific items in the store, you get 75 cents per gallon off outside. She said nowhere is it say on the promo that it is not immediate or give a time-frame. Glad I did not fall for that one! I received an email yesterday telling me my membership is up for renewal in 30 days. Needless to say i will no longer be playing BJ's silly coupon game. Costco is a little further drive, but at least i know i am getting a good price without having to clip coupons that don't work.

The staff are helpful and friendly. I usually do a grocery pick up and it comes out quickly and correctly.

Very poorly run- management personnel invisible or non-existent. So-called trainer supposedly training a new cashier was unable to input an expensive meat item because bar code was illegible and he did not know how to accomplish the task. Was sent to the so-called customer service desk to get a "new, updated" membership card (why I needed this never explained)- 2 women behind the counter supposedly helping others- no management in evidence- after never acknowledging my presence and continuing to work at the pace of slow molasses, I left the store without over $300 worth of goods I had intended to purchase. It is too bad there is no Costco nearby.

One of the employees (presumably the manager) of the tire shop is an arrogant mask N**** Dropped off the car earlier and another employee (not wearing a mask) was polite and did his job, told us the car would be ready in an hour. Came back to pick it up and the mask N*** told me to leave the store or put a mask on, he said, "if WE have to wear one, so do you". I told him I don't work here, I can do as I please. He said, "this is a private business", (as if he owned the place) and "you need to get outside or put a mask on." BTW, I was at least 20' away from him the entire time, all he had to do was ring up the sale and we would have left. Took this this "employee" more time to play power hungry mask N*** then it would to ring up the sale. Never buying tires or anything else from this company, been a customer for close to 20 years, spent 10's of thousands of dollars there, I expect better customer service. I complained to BJ'S on line and have not received a response.

Will not go back for a while if ever. Do not like being harassed by employees and managers. Did not feel comfortable shopping there

I do BJ's delivery fulfillment as an independent contractor for InstaCart at the Tilton NH store. Other local stores can be adversarial toward us while we shop for the most at risk covid-19 people. My BJ's store's staff is always friendly and helpful. They know I am shopping for their customers and joining them at risk to keep people fed.

Thieves and scumbags abound at this Tilton location. I was loading a large item onto a cart and set my iPhone down on the display. I got on the road and realized so I turned around and went back to the spot I left it but it was gone. Called the phone and went right to voice mail so I knew some scumbag thief had turned it off so I couldn't track them. Think twice before using this BJ's, but if you do be on alert. BJ's security wasn't very helpful, telling me I had to wait 3 days before anyone could look into the security camera data. Time to join Costco I guess.

Worst tire experience ever. Three issues for my Toyota Camry. The car has a light colored leather. Just pulling the car in and out of the bay the driver seat ended up filthy. I had to use simple green to get it clean. Two, my tire sensors would not reset and activated 20 miles down the road. I thought I had a tire going flat and white knuckled it the rest of the way home. Three, there's a shake now at highway speeds. I am back now and the tire side is staffed with one guy. So every customer that walks in is a big delay while I wait to see what he can do for me. What a colossal waste of time. Never again.

Was looking for a bed frame. Called and was told they had 14 in stock. When I got there I looked in the mattress area and didn't see any. I asked a male employee who pointed under the bottom shelf and said they are under there. Didn't offer to help and stood and watched me climb under the shelf, pull one out and lift it into my carriage...... then said " want any help?" I am a 64 year old female, in fairly good shape, but wow...... wonder what this guy is getting paid for. Amazing.

We relocated back to the Lakes Region of NH after living for a long time in So. Cal. While we were in Cali we became dependent on Costco so when we came back we had to get a membership to BJ's. We go to one in MA and this one in Tilton and they are essentially equivalent in stock, service and pricing. We like it a lot and there are a lot of similarities to Costco. PROs: The best meats bar none. The steaks and chicken are far higher quality than any supermarket. The gas is pretty cheap at the member pricing and like Costco's store brand of Kirkland, their store brand (Wellsley farms and Berkley/Jensen) are quite good and value-priced. The quality of fresh produce up here in Northern New England can sometimes be uneven, and their vegetables and fruits are very good. Great hit-or-miss HDTVs, electronics and clothing options as well. As a rule the quality of their inventory is high and there is a low likelihood you will buy something that doesn't last. We have bought everything from Paddleboards to patio sets to HDTVs there and thank goodness it is around. CONS: The only two things Bj's hasn't duplicated is (1) Costco's food-court for hot dogs, pizza, etc... (you may have heard that the number 1 pizza take-out in the nation isn't Pizza-Hut, Papa John's or Dominos - LOL it's Costco). The other thing is that Costco locations have a kitchen to pre-prepare meals like shepherds pie, enchiladas, chicken pot pies and the like that you bring home and cook. They are so good! Like most "big-box" stores, you may have to bring things home and sub-divide them (unless you can eat packages of 9 chicken-breasts in a few days ;-). And like most big-box stores, if you leave with a total bill of less than $300 you are doing well. But we go once a month and it pretty much holds us with intermittent trips to the local supermarket.

Had a great experience getting tires. Stopped by so they could see what was needed and they ordered them. Arrived a few minutes early for our appointment (first of the day) and they took us right away. Job was completed in the time they said it would be. An overall positive experience!
