“We had the $10. burger special with choice of fries. It was great. They were busy with only one server, but it went very smoothly with teamwork. A potential guest decided she could make her own parking spot at the front door and was asked by another guest not to park there. Instead of helping her elderly mother into the restaurant and then moving her car, she got angry, moved her car and then dragged her mother into the restaurant. She wanted to be seated in a closed section, which she was told she could not. She was belligerent and privileged. She blamed everyone else for her problems and blamed it on prejudice because of her NY plates...that no one could see. The food and service were great, the floor show was a bonus.”

“Came here for a girls overnight getaway and dined here. Loved the ambiance of the wine cellar (bring a sweater-its chilly down there! Menu is seasonal and slim, but literally everything was delicious, especially the scallop dish! Waitstaff was short staffed and a little curt, but everything else was delightful.”

“Great food - lots of love in every bite. I ordered a Reuben and only expected the sandwich. What I got was a perfectly grilled Reuben pannini made with high quality ingredients...AND a fairly large wonderfully fresh crisp salad with a delicious homemade ddressing. It took a few extra minutes to have our food brought out, but it was so worth it. My wife got a smoked turkey pannini that was lovely, and my daughter ordered a salad that sounded good to her but didn't want the ham that came in the salad. The lady who took out order, I think she's the owner, very kindly offered turkey in place of the ham. Both of their dishes were flawlessly perfect too. I only had a black hot coffee (I'm generally simple when it comes to coffee) but saw them make some really nice coffee concoctions - the presentation was as high end as the quality. Can't recommend this place highly enough!”

“I’m a foodie, and that includes desserts, but specifically Ice Cream. I have lived in three states, and traveled to many more. This is unequivocally the best ice cream I have ever put to the test. I live and hour away, but you will find me here a lot even if I have to make an excuse to get here.”

“Our stay at the Beal House was fantastic. Tom was an incredible host and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. After a long day of hiking, he greeted us with fresh-squeezed lemonade, which was such a thoughtful touch and exactly what we needed.

In the mornings he had fresh coffee ready and fruit set out for guests, and you could tell he genuinely cares about creating a great experience. The beds were also incredibly comfortable.

“Incredible food - freshly-baked bread, bagels, sweet and savory pastries, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and frozen items to take and cook at home. The kolache (first photo) - similar to a danish - is one of the best pastries I've had. They have a cute and cozy seating area that's in a separate room from where the counter is, too, and in nice weather also offer outdoor seating. Just be warned that they are popular, so it's best to get there early in the day before their options dwindle!”

There I did partake of hot cocoa rich and coffee bold, companions most worthy to the crown jewel: their wondrous mini doe-nuts, golden and fair. Each bite was as though sugar sprites themselves had danced upon my tongue, leaving delight in their wake. Though the cost be not small, the joy was great, and such pleasures are treasures most rare. “My Old English Sheepdog group held its 9th annual weekend gathering at the Wayside Inn. We were a small group this year, only 20 members and 14 dogs. 14 very large dogs! Sarah and her staff made us feel so very welcomed. Very friendly, and attentive to all our needs. The meals were absolutely delicious! Especially the French toast caserole! If your looking to stay at a quaint NE BnB, that is beyond pet friendly, where the food is "TDF", I highly recommend the Wayside Inn.”
