I wouldn’t recommend this place. We made a last-minute reservation while staying at the Tropicana, but unfortunately, the food was not good at all. The pasta was undercooked and still hard, and the chicken parm was mostly cheese on top of a chicken cutlet. The restaurant was also very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The food was good, but the service was disappointing. Our waitress was pleasant for literally the first two minutes, but after walking away and returning, her attitude completely changed. We immediately felt rushed and unwelcome. While I was eating, she leaned her entire upper body over my food, with her arm, hair, and stomach over my plate, to remove the salt and shakers without saying excuse me or asking if we were finished.
I also requested extra sauce when ordering, but it was missing. When I reminded her, she said the kitchen might be closed, briefly went to the front entrance (my seat was in the front), then returned saying it was closed. She also insinuated we weren’t ordering anything else.
This is a regular spot for my coworkers and me, and I was excited to bring someone new to Carmines. Unfortunately, her service left such a poor impression that I felt like Carmines let my guest down. I hope management addresses this.

This restaurant is amazing. Amazing food, insanely large dish sizes, great atmosphere, and great service. The food is family style meaning you can chose to share your dishes; if you do not share then order only one thing. lol. The apps are massive as well, but definitely make a reservation as the place is packed.

We had a party of 7 tonight. Our waitress was DJ, she was wonderful! So personable and helped us enjoy a great meal as a family on our first day of vacation!

Great place. Our waitress DJ was very kind. My dad said it was the best steak he ever had. My shrimp marinara and chocolate torti were delicious.

This is one of the places where you want to be if you are visiting Atlantic City. The food is amazing, the service is top-notch, especially for special events. Me and my family were there celebrating our family reunion. Victoria and Sofia made sure all the small details were not missed and we couldn't thank them enough. Shout out to Ronaldo (I think that was his name... our server), this man has patience I have never seen in a looooong time. He packed his patience well and dealing with different personalities is always a challenge, but he treated us magnificent. I would definitely recommend, we had a party of 27 and everything was family style serving. We did not realize it until after the evening was winding down that we did not get any group photos of the food or table with our guests. Oh, well that just means we have to go back...lol!

Mike was amazing, very outgoing, knowledgeable, friendly, and a great waiter. From the moment we sat down, to the moment we left, he was right there to say hello, do you guys need anything, and goodbye. Martini Mike made sure we were taken care of and felt like we knew him our whole lives. Food was amazing, Mike was amazing, 100/10

Carmine’s, located in the shopping mall of the Tropicana hotel, is a must-visit destination for any food lover. Make a reservation—you’ll be glad you did! While walk-ins are possible, expect a longer wait time as this restaurant strongly urges patrons to secure a table in advance.
Carmine’s serves generous family-size portions that easily feed 2 to 4 people. While such sizeable servings may seem appealing, they can be problematic if someone in your party has food allergies, resulting in excess food that inevitably gets wasted. Additionally, with boardwalk hotels typically lacking microwaves and offering only mini fridges, carrying leftover food while exploring the area is impractical. They should definitely consider adding single-serving options to their menu to cater to all preferences.
Step into Carmine’s, and you’ll immediately appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the superb flavor of the dishes. Our server may have initially appeared all business, but he lightened up when it was time to bring the check. In contrast, the rest of the staff was friendly and professional, enhancing the overall dining experience. I kicked off my meal with calamari that was nothing short of delicious—there was no way I could finish it, despite my best efforts!
For the main course, we selected the Penne Alla Vodka with chicken and the Rigatoni Country Style, both of which were outstanding. I would not hesitate to order them again, although we did end up with a good amount left over.
In summary, Carmine’s delivers excellent service and delicious food that you shouldn't miss. I highly recommend dining here—you’ll leave satisfied and eager to return!

Ruined birthday surprise, raw steak, and 1-hour wait. Unacceptable service.
We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday as a family and it was a disaster. We had to wait over an hour just to be served our food. When it finally arrived, the steak we ordered medium was served raw in the center. To make matters worse, I explicitly requested a birthday cake to surprise him, and even reminded the server TWICE, but they completely forgot. We had to leave upset, frustrated, and without getting to sing to him, ruining the main point of the night. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion and expect good service for the high prices, save your money and go somewhere that actually cares.
