Came here this weekend. I think this really should be a 3.5, but I'm rounding up.Chef Vola's suffers from one thing: being way over hyped. We went with friends so I didn't deal with the reservation part: I can't speak to that. But it's hard to get in to which feeds into the hype of best Italian in AC. I don't agree.Atmosphere is dark and moody in a good way. Except the bathroom, which is legitimately in their kitchen. That was incredibly off-putting.My biggest issue here is the food and the price. I got Milanese, arguably one of the cheapest entrees on the menu. It was humongous, true, for nearly 35 dollars but nothing I'd rave about after leaving. I didn't eat almost half of it and wasn't mad about it. A side of broccoli rabe, while delicious, was $14. My husband got a good, but again not marvelous, crab cake and shrimp for almost $60. Everything is ala carte and the plates of pasta who came with our friends meals looked messy. Everything looked over sauced.Overall, our large table came out to nearly $1,000, which doesn't include alcohol (it's byo): that cost I think you NEED to be a meal I'd rave about again and again: and honestly I just won't.

My first time here with my wife and two friends. We went to celebrate Paulie D's birthday. It was an intimate experience. Our server was incredible in every way. Her menu knowledge was ridiculously good. She made suggestions and offered up her favorite items. She was engaging and very informative. One of the best servers I've ever come across. (I operate restaurants as well). I rate her a 10/10. Definitely an asset. The food was very, very good. The portions were generous. I ordered the chicken parm, penne pasta, with their blush sauce, topped with crab meat. The entire table enjoyed their food. The owner Lou was by our table and gave us a nice greeting. He offered us a very good description of their desserts. He let us know that his mother made the Cream pies. My mind was set to order the banana cream pie before I even got there today. It was chilled and absolutely friggin delicious. By far the best banana cream pie that I have ever had. The staff sang happy birthday to Paulie D making it a memorable day. The entire staff seemed to be in good spirits and interacting with the customers, treating them like family. Lou acknowledged our table many times asking us questions and thanking us. It was very nice to see an owner engaging with their customers. He has a great place. We will be back.

My new favorite restaurant in Atlantic city. My husband and I spent the past weekend in AC to celebrate our birthdays and we wanted to try a different restaurant for dinner. We had heard of Chef Volas and were so happy to have gotten a reservation. We went on a Saturday night and we were immediately greeted by the owner who offered us 2 seating options. We sat downstairs and every minute of our dinner was amazing, from the staff to the food and the tiramisu we had for dessert was incredible. We cant wait to come back!

Really appreciated the Chef Volas experience from the moment I got a call back for my reservation. The lady on the phone was so sweet. I mentioned it was for my boyfriend’s birthday and when we got there we were presently surprised with an adorable happy birthday banner. The atmosphere was so welcoming. We felt like we were transported to Nonna’s house and we were there for Sunday dinner. From family pictures on the walls, the hellos and goodbyes from the owners, the small details, and the food, it was a great experience. We had the bone in veal Parmesan and the chicken Parmesan and they were both delicious! We finished the night with a banana cream pie and a warm ricotta cheesecake. The warm ricotta cheese cake is a MUST. Besides the food being delicious, it’s a great atmosphere and definitely a place to try at-least once.

Chef Vola’s… what can I say? This is a legendary place and from the customer service I know why. Great service even from the lady that I spoke with on the phone. Would I say its the best italian I have had? No, but between the ambiance and service it is worth the trip. The house salad was nicely done albeit basic. The veal parm chop is what they are known for and although I found it cooked nicely it was bland. The sole with crust was delicious. Best thing we had. It had a nice sweetness to it and a perfectly flaky fish. I would skip the pasta with sauce course. The angel hair with meat sauce wasn’t the best. The cheesecake was delicious especially the one that tastes like warm chocolate chip cookies. The limoncello pie was like a bitter key lime pie. We enjoyed our experience here and I would recommend coming if you can. Great place and I hope it is here another 100 years.

We celebrated our “50th” Anniversary at Chef Vola’s today. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Besides the food being amazing our waiter Anthony literally made our Anniversary special. We will definitely be coming back a lot. This place is “AMAZING”. Real old school Italian.

Unbelievable. Amazing, intimate ambiance. The veal piccata was one of the best dishes I ever had in my life. I went to sleep dreaming about it. And the CHEESECAKE was like I died and went to heaven. This place is a MUST if you’re in AC. Anthony was our server and he was also
