Stephen Starr has done it again. Great vibes (sit at the tables near the bar), amazing happy hour, and excellent food. Staff is really nice and accommodating.
This dinner was amazing! We went with the chef’s specials, and everything was incredible. Our server, Manolo, was great—his recommendations were spot on and he made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Chez Frites is a new upscale French restaurant from Stephen Starr located on the lobby floor of The Ocean Resort. The brasserie features a full dining room visible to passersby and a square-shaped bar with one side in the lobby itself. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, with nice seating by the bar and classic French movie poster pictures on the wall that make you feel like you were in a bistro in France. The service is top-notch, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food is incredible, delicious, and beautifully presented. The happy hour menu is delicious, with the cheesesteak mornay and the petite croque monsieur loved by everyone, and the steak frites looked yummy. The mini-tini flight offers 3 different martinis. The "Cafe Cafe" is their version of an espresso martini, composed of American Harvest Vodka, Averna, Frangelico, and espresso—bold and robust with the perfect hint of sweetness. The filet mignon is very good. The fries were too salty and it was fairly noisy, as the background music could have been turned down a notch. The chef’s specials are incredible. A dinner special with several courses looked like a good deal. Chez Frites is a gem and a great addition to The Ocean.
