Shug’s has the best soul food in South Jersey hands down! It’s hidden off on the campus, but it’s the first thing you see as you walk in. Hard to miss. The food is delicious!!! and the owners are friendly and give you enough food to put you to sleep! I would say what my favorite dish is, but they make it impossible to choose.
My family and I visited Shug’s for the first time, we were there for the Queens concert. I have to say the food was cooked to order so it took awhile for them to prepare it; but was worth the wait. The chicken, macaroni and cheese and the collard greens was awesome, everyone’s order was great!! I would recommend this establishment to anyone interested in some down home soul
food.

Shug’s Soul Food is an absolute gem in Atlantic City. The portions are incredibly generous, the prices are great, and every dish is full of rich, homemade flavor. It’s tucked away on a college campus, so you might not find it unless you know where to look but it’s 100% worth the trip. If you love authentic soul food with real heart behind it, this is the spot. Highly recommend!! 😋🤤
