I'll Posto is an upscale BYOB in Avalon. We stopped in early on a Saturday during off season. We were quickly seated and met by a server. The space is upscale. There were a number of specials which they explained to us. The pesto that accompanied the bread was a great burst of flavor. We started with the fried calamari which had a wonder drizzle of both balsamic and a red sauce. Both added to the dish in a positive way. We shared a caesar salad which was fairly boiler plate in terms of presentation and flavor. For entrees our kids had linguini and meatballs which is off menu for kids and my wife had risotto far diablo and I had a seafood special with a rose cream sauce. Both were very flavorful with lots of seafood and the special had homemade pasta. Wait staff was attentive. Only downside was price, which was high even by shore standards. Overall it was a very solid meal.

Our experiences have always been excellent. The food, service & specials! Lea runs a tight ship. Everyone is always well trained , versed on the specials, regularly checking in.

Awesome dinner. We've been here before and they do not disappoint. They were busy on a Saturday evening but the service was still very good. In or around Avalon this is a don't miss spot.

Another Great meal at Il posto on a quiet evening. The Special Brocclai/cheddar soup was fantastic. It was much lighter than other Brocclai/cheddar soups i have had. The Barramuzzo fish special over linguini was excellent. Fettucini Bolognese was very good. Cannollis were standard fare. Unlike many nights, restaurant was not busy so the noise level was not an issue. The new space is a tad too brightly lit.

We travel to Avalon several times a year and we always include a meal at Il Posto. Amazing food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere makes this our favorite restaurant on the 7 mile island.

This was the second year we celebrated New Year's Eve at IlPosto. The variety of items on the menu was great. We enjoyed each course. Our server was pleasant and very helpful in making our dinner selections. We are planning on making this a tradition!!

If you're hoping for a quiet romantic dinner for two do not go here. The tables for two are terrible-they are either placed in between large tables which are usually very noisy and obnoxious, or they are right next to the front doors which are constantly opening and closing - especially annoying on an exceptionally cold evening, which this was! Plus everyone is constantly passing by as though it's grand central station - not a pleasant experience! Don't misunderstand - the food here is very good and the service is also very good; however, I don't go out to dinner just for the food For me it's also about the ambiance; the food, the atmosphere, the overall experience - all of which are equally important to make it a great evening and I am sad to say that you failed on this occasion.

Not great. I had the special Halibut and it was very dry and the pasta was not well cooked. Server was good but had too many tables to cover so our service was slow. I recognize that they had limited wait staff because it was the weekend before Thanksgiving, but overall, this was quality delivered was not worth the price. Even the bread was poor - how does that happen in an Italian restaurant?

Excellent dinner once again at Il Posto. Shrimp Bisque was fantastic. Lots of shrimp and creamy but not overly heavy. Flounder Francaise and Ravioli special were both wonderful. Full of flavor, perfectly prepared. Creme Brulee was tasty as always. Service was good. Only suggestion is the lighting is too bright in the dining room closest to the exit.

This is our favorite restaurant in Avalon. It's such a treat to enjoy this amazing chef and his creations. The servers are very friendly, attentive and helpful. The decor and atmosphere is pleasant. We usually start with either the octopus- Polpo alla Griglia or Calamari alla Griglia appetizer-both are fantastic. My husband's favorite is the Breaded Veal Chop -Cotoletta al Parmigiana. Our son's favorite is the Risotta al Gamberi. My favorite are the featured specials. We enjoyed a Flounder Special with Crabmeat in a lemon sauce during the summer of 2023 that we kept going back for. Dynamite! (I would not ding them on this but I preferred the old exterior signage-black with red lettering as opposed to the new blue signage that everyone else does at the shore-boring, ordinary and it doesn't pop).

Another great meal at Il Posto. Love the newly integrated Brian's space. Very welcoming and warm. Tables nicely spaced. Lights could use some dimming. Food was outstanding as always. Grilled calamari was tender and exquisite. Branzino and Veal Piccata were wonderful. Lemon sorbet was the perfect ending. Cool, tart and delicious.

We have been to il Posto many times since it first opened and love the restaurant and the people who work there. The new expanded space looks great and we love the BYOB. However, on this night service was very slow and once we ordered the food was very slow to come out. Once we got there, the food was very good, but I didn't like my particular choice this time. We were sitting in the older area and it was so loud. We could hardly hear each other talk. Probably more disappointing is how much they have raised their prices. It will make us think twice next time.

This is the best restaurant in Avalon. Food is consistently wonderful and Sam is the best server. The new dining room is also an added plus. We usually eat here once a week-it's that good!

The food took a very long time. I assume they were understaffed. But after a recent expansion, they need to prepare for the bigger place to fill up as more restaurants close for the season. The food is also excellent, so it will always draw a crowd. Our server was clearly covering more tables than he had time for, but did a great job considering.
