The tavern is the oldest still standing tavern in the United States and inside are a lot of historical facts and artifacts. It was about a mile down a smooth dirt road that was pretty narrow, if you pass someone you'll have to get off the edge of the road to do it. They have a three and a half mile long hiking trail. A place I’ve heard of for many years. Finally the time was right to take the trip out there. What an amazing place tucked away out in the middle of nowhere. The history this place holds is incredible. For one, this is the site of the last skirmish of the revolutionary war. Who knew ? Right ? Inside is like stepping back in time. Was a beautiful place and quiet. Wasn't able to gp inside, which sucked but looking around and reading the signs worked. Over the bridge, there's a spot you go to where it feels as tho you're on an island. Your surrounded on 3 sides by water, and I thought that was an awesome spot to camp for the weekend even tho I don't know if it's allowed and I'm sure not, but it's a wicked hideaway.
