Love this restaurant and it's on our list every year. It's a bit loud which I find as the only downside. When you have family members that can't hear well to start it makes it hard to hear everyone's conversations without talking loud yourself.
Food was excellent and service was good. Unique and delicious cocktails. Love the family style salad and the homemade dressings were delicious, especially used together. We were a party of 6 and were seated upstairs, which was much quieter than the first floor. The upper level would benefit from some background music, just to add some ambiance. Shrimp & Scallop Santa Cruz pasta was a big winner, and our group also enjoyed the Mahi, Tuna, Salmon, Tilefish, and Swordfish (fried?!).
I go to the Black Whale every year for my birthday. ( as well as other times). I always order the lobster bake and it is always delicious. Love the dressing for the salad. They should bottle it for purchase!!! This year was no different except for 2 things that I want to mention. 1) I ordered a cocktail. The ice was overflowing the top of the glass.
