We went on a rainy day for happy hour. The Oysters, Clams, shrimp, and tuna were great. Service was a bit slow but very thorough, and the place got increasingly crowded as the weather turned. If you are available for happy hour (3-6) do yourself a favor and go, but make sure you go early!
Black Whale Bar & Fish House came highly recommended, and it lived up to it. From the cocktails to the seafood and dessert, everything was excellent.
The scallops were beautifully cooked, the oysters were fresh, and the menu had plenty of variety without feeling overwhelming. The atmosphere was warm, the service was attentive, and the drinks were very well done.
The bread pudding was the perfect finish. One of the better meals of the trip....

The Black Whale continues to be one of the best places to eat in Beach Haven, and probably in all of LBI. Not only is the food delicious, the staff is wonderful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the local seafood. Special occasion or last night on the island for the summer, go there. They won’t disappoint.
