Country Kettle Chowda Reviews
I love all your soups and chowders. Every year we buy a couple of quarts to bring home. This year, we added to our purchase a quart of the crab corn chowder. It was outstanding! I hope this becomes a permanent chowder going forward! Looking forward to next year!
As someone who regularly frequented country kettle chowda for many years every time I visited LBI, my recent experience certainly was not the same this June 2025. Good food isn’t cheap. Cheap food isn’t good is a commonly used expression, I am not happy to say the Manhattan clam chowder should’ve been cold potato soup with a hint of clams. Country Kettle Chowda is a hidden gem for chowder lovers, located in a shopping village. The New England chowder is a must-try, creamy and flavorful, especially delicious in a bread bowl. The aroma of chowder draws you in like a trance, offering a bouquet of bisque, chowder, and lobster. The bisque and oyster crackers combination is described as intoxicating, making it a dreamy experience. Many agree it is the best clam chowder, with a perfect consistency and savory taste. A culinary highlight worth returning to, even for those who have tried chowder in various places. Perfect for a beach trip or a quick to-go option on a cold day. Visitors love to get a bread bowl for an even better experience, especially during the off-season when the island is peaceful. The place is small and take-out only, but there are a few tables outside to sit and enjoy the meal. The clam chowder and lobster bisque are the favorites, especially when served in a bread bowl, making the experience even better. This spot is considered a staple on Long Beach Island, and many look forward to returning for their delicious soups. However, some feel the chowder could use more clams and potatoes, as the current recipes are a bit too thin and sometimes stingy with seafood. Despite that, the place remains popular for its good recipes and cozy atmosphere. Overall, it’s a great stop for classic seafood soups, especially if you’re craving comforting chowder on a chilly day.
