From start to finish this is the best restaurant on LBI. The staff is friendly, professional and attentive. The food is fresh, creatively prepared and DELICIOUS!! Multiple visits are a must.

I genuinely cannot imagine an LBI summer without a trip to harvey cedars shellfish. Let me tell you there’s a reason it’s been open & thriving for over 50 years! The food and staff are INCREDIBLE. I wait all winter for Firecracker Shrimp, a broiled combination, and a calamari veracruz, along with seeing the amazing service staff that really make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is also amazing, specifically the outdoor seating addition! I don’t even mind waiting for a table because the vibes are so high! Love this place, already looking forward to the 2026 season😍

One of the best spots on LBI by far. The seafood is delicious, and their calamari Veracruz app is fantastic. There is often a short wait for if you go during peak dinner hours but it’s well worth it. The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to accompany you. We loved the outdoor seating. Definitely will be back!

HCSC is an LBI staple!!! I grew up coming here with my parents and now I’m bringing my own kids here. We had a great meal for Labor Day Weekend with all of the Shellfish staples — Vera Cruz, crab dip, sautéed clams and mussels, and of course a lobster platter. It was a busy night with a long wait, but the wait always goes by quicker with a glass of wine and a competitive game of ring toss. The Shellfish staff is always friendly, efficient, and helpful. They got a high chair for my niece and easily accommodated my mom who is in a wheelchair. We love the Garofalo family and have enjoyed seeing the new changes as the younger generation has taken over. Can’t wait until summer 2026!

This is my favorite place to eat on LBI. Service was excellent! Now the food is out of this world. Best calamari I have ever had in my entire life and the lobster tasted like it was drenched in butter without any butter on it! 11/10 WILL be back again and again!

Horrible experience!! AVOID! My group waited an hour and 45 minutes and observed at least 4 large parties that arrived AFTER us be seated BEFORE us. It was obvious these parties knew someone that worked there because I watched the hostess make gestures that she would get them seated sooner - and sure enough they did. When it is a busy weekend during the season tables should be first come first serve to keep it fair for everyone. The meal was mediocre and not worth the wait. We were seated inside where the air conditioning was uncomfortably cold. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. You are better off going to another restaurant where you make a reservation and favoritism isn't at play.
This is an inside job type of place where if you don’t know someone, you shouldn’t bother going because you will wait up to 2 hours to sit down while people stroll in and get seated immediately in front of you.
We’ve been coming here for years. But we will no longer be coming. The wait has become out of control simply because of favoritism being played into their “no reservation” game.

Restaurantji Recommends
Stopped here for dinner last night heard some good things about the restaurant. Waited about 40 minutes to be seated. We both ordered the stuffed flounder. When the food came out it looked good but after trying it, it was veryyyy bland absolutely no flavor at all. The sides were delicious but the main course was a total let down! The staff and service was great though!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants on LBI! The service is unmatched and the food is even better. Celia is a phenomenal server- attentive, hard working & so sweet. The linguine and clams & the fire cracker shrimp are my favorites I’ve ever had! The rest of the staff and owners are all incredible. You always feel like you’re at home when you’re here!

Our absolute FAVORITE place for dinner on the island! We had been going here for many years, while vacationing on the island (we would vacation for a week and be here 4-5 night...it is THAT good!) Now that we have moved closer, we are thrilled to know we can go anytime that they are open! Harvey Cedars Shellfish has a great atmosphere where the team becomes friends, and the food cannot be matched! And when you DO go, get the clams casino...You can thank me later!
