This restaurant is absolutely fantastic and exceeded all expectations. Our meal was an unforgettable culinary experience. All recipes felt intentionally crafted and precisely balanced, and dishes were executed perfectly by the kitchen staff. Black-Eyed Susans is one of our favorite spots on LBI! We sat outside under the tent, and the atmosphere was so charming and cozy—it has such a great vibe. Between the ambiance, the cocktails, and the food, everything was a 10/10.

You MUST go! This place is incredible. Make a reservation in advance! The hostess, the waitress, bussers, chef- everyone was so kind, friendly, accommodating. They make it their job to provide their customers with an experience. The decor is beautiful. Whether you sit inside or outside you really can’t go wrong. Now the food- WOW. Based on the reviews, Black Eyed Susans Restaurant & Bar is a favorite on LBI, offering a consistently wonderful experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a beautiful outdoor garden setting, a new cocktail caboose, and live acoustic music. The service is always exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who make guests feel valued. The food is reliably delicious, with highlights including the sourdough bread, best french fries in the United States, a perfect swordfish special with a peach “BBQ” sauce, and a delicious garlicky broccoli Rob. The cocktail menu is amazing, featuring mini martinis and yummy painkiller drinks with rum and coconut and pineapple and mango, plus zero proof/mocktail options. Wine Wednesdays offer half-price bottles on an excellent wine list. While some dishes like the tuna on fennel and rice can be bland and the octopus appetizer disappointing, the overall quality of the food, outstanding service, and fair pricing deliver an incredible experience. The restaurant also offers a private room upstairs for events and happily accommodates dietary restrictions, including peanuts, lentils, peas, fava beans, lobster, mussels, and balsamic vinegar. Black Eyed Susans is a gem in Harvey Cedars that never disappoints.
