Very disappointing experience. Not only was our server inattentive, but she was also tending bar at the same time, which clearly affected the quality of service. From the moment we sat down, there was no effort to make us feel welcome or even engage in basic conversation. Instead, it felt like she was eager to rush us out as quickly as possible.
The food was extremely average — honestly, nothing special and easily something you could make at home. The drinks were equally disappointing, and overall the service was poor from start to finish.
To make matters worse, the restaurant advertised a happy hour on Instagram, yet none of the staff seemed to know anything about it. How do you promote a happy hour on your social media and have nobody in the restaurant aware of it? It was frustrating and unprofessional.
Unfortunately, between the lackluster food, terrible drinks, and poor service, this is not a place I would return to.
TOTAL REVEIW - don’t go overpriced and bad service

We had a great dinner- it was just two of use and it was on a Saturday in the summer. We came in around 7:30 and we were sat inside. Immediately. After placing our order we were told that there were two parties of more than 20 people. So our food was going to be a few extra minutes, which was fine. Everything that we had was absolutely delicious. Our server was John, and Brian was the food runner. They were both absolutely exceptional. Super friendly and very funny and outgoing to talk to. When we were done and walked out of the establishment to our car, there was a beautiful sunset on the Bayside and we had a perfect view of it while walking back to our car. Everything was impeccable and I would absolutely go back again.
The average review is for the strangely managed way the restaurant runs, from the customer perspective. I asked a question of the hostess when we first arrived and she seemed confused. She told us to sit at any high top table, or else there would be a wait. We sat at the high top table. Literally, we were helped by five different waitstaff at the restaurant. The bartender helped us first. He was nice, but it seems the busy bartender also has to take drink orders at the dining tables. It just seemed like wait staff had a random way of helping the tables. The food was okay. Typical bar food taste, even though fancier entrees are available. Outdoor seating is nice. Outdoor Bar has sports games on.
I don’t think I would return.

Had the stuffed flounder that really had no taste. Seemed frozen. My friend got the tuna which was a great sized portion. Said it was ok. Drinks were good and atmosphere is very nice.

overall underwhelming, i was expecting better for the price. Not the worst but great. Food and service were mediocre. Good place to have a drink but seek elsewhere for a high quality meal.

the food was just okay but the cocktails were good… the ambiance was slightly preferable compared to buckalews as they have al fresco dining… unfortunately these are not enough for is to consider returning…

When it first opened, I liked this adjunct to Buckalew's, which I've enjoyed since the 1970s. Wanted to introduce my husband to a nice LBI experience.
This wasn't it. New dining room not open for lunch. Waitress in the patio let us sit for a while, finally brought us drinks. Vanished. Never showed up to take a food order. My husband pointed out that none of the other patrons had food in front of them, not a good sign. We asked for our drinks check, the same waitress (who acted like she never saw us before in her life) comped us. No skin off her nose as no alcohol was involved. Won't be going back.
First off theres a reason this restaurant never has a wait on a weekend in LBI... the ambiance is enticing and the wait staff is attentive... but stay far away unless you enjoy awful food and drinks... this was a second chance for this establishment as the food was horrible the first time last year. Starting off with drinks, 2 mojitos that were basically seltzer and lime... they had to be sent back twice and still couldn't get it right... then the crab stuffed lobster appetizer had a piece of plastic food wrap mixed into crab stuffing... this was not a shell or membrane of shellfish as I was able to stretch it... I showed it to the manager who fought with me, that this is normal, meanwhile im a culinary business owner for many years and know the difference.. my son ordered a plain cheese burger.... the chef sent it out with onion jam. Spoke with the manager again that the burger was not prepared properly and his answer was cant you just wipe it off... a 10 year old kid doesn't want to wipe off onion jam on his cheeseburger and then eat it.... lastly the ahi tuna was atrocious.. bland, unseasoned and a total waste of money... do yourself a favor and go elsewhere... I hate writing these reviews, they give me no joy... but when a business does not correct thier wrongs, others should not have to endure it either.

Wouldn’t sit a party of 15 outside, when it was 90% empty. Made no sense. Thought just the hostess was rude, then met the manager- he was even worse.

I have never experienced racism to this extend. We are Indian couple with a toddler waited 30 mins and once we were seated the waiter completed ignored us. When we did manage to get his attention he stated he would be right with us. We kept waiting while watching the waiter give out checks to other tables and take desert orders did not once check on us to even take our orders. Then he continued to check on his other tables not once did he come to take our orders. Horrible horrible experience I am mortified to even see this. Poor management and clearly they did not care for our business. If you’re not white don’t bother going there. The only nice person was Julia at the front desk. We ended up walking out. I can’t believe this type of management still exists.

Service needs training. Hostess/Host personnel need hospitality training. Management needs to staff the Front of the house according to business demands. Servers are overwhelmed! Overpriced compared to quality delivered. No management on the floor.

Ill be honest this place is not good. Their lobster bisque was simultaneously the most expensive and worst quality I've had in my life. The rest of the food was meh and the service was horrible. I wouldnt return
