The Gables Historic Inn & Restaurant

The Gables is our once a year special night out. The ambiance is superb and very romantic. The food and service is also top notch. Thank you for another wonderful experience.

The experience at The Gables never fails to impress. The backyard garden area with all the flowers, fauna, and white lights created a romantic atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. The course selection was creative, and our choices were delicious. Our waiter, Maurice, was very attentive without being intrusive. My only complaint was that we were a party of 2 and were seated very, very closely between two other parties of two, so close that it was awkward having a private conversation without being heard by the others. There needs to be more distance to enhance the atmosphere.

A can't miss for any couple or special occasion dinner. I've been coming to LBI for 20 years and just made it here for the first time and will now live in regret for all the dinners I could have had here!

Gables is great. The atmosphere/ambience is so beautiful. The food and service are always excellent. My only suggestion is to bring back the ala carte menu. We live only a few blocks away and eat there infrequently due to the $130pp prix fixe menu. Too steep for regular dining. Additionally, we do not normally eat three courses.

This place was way beyond 5 stars ! The staff was so friendly and attentive! The atmosphere was just so nice, and not formal. the food was delicious ( although a bit of a limited menu ). Sometimes, gourmet food is skimpy, but this was just the right proportion for every course! Other clients there were also friendly, but everyone seemed to be locals before the summer rush comes in. Next time, I think we're staying over night !

All staff were extremely welcoming including the owners. Food was delicious. Service was great. Will definitely be back!

We have lived in the area for over 35 years and have never been to the restaurant but have heard great things about it. The decor was lovely and the food was outstanding. It was a pre fixe priced for three courses. While the restaurant is a bit pricey, the food was exceptional. A great Easter dinner!!

The Gables never disappoints! From the warm welcome by owners, Sandra and Steve, to our attentive wait staff - Brie and Laura and the wonderfully creative menu, our Easter dinner was a memorable feast. Looking forward to our next visit.

The restaurant is very beautiful. Elegant and old world. The service was impeccable. The staff are extremely friendly and wonderful and the owner is gracious. It is a prix fix menu which is why I only gave 4 stars. I'm sure in this era it cuts down on costs and allows the restaurant to perfect their menu so I'm not criticizing just making note. You can BYOB, and they do have a selection of house wine favorites. It is a must try and definitely one of the best meals I've had on the island.

We celebrated a birthday, and it was absolutely a perfect meal and experience. The food and service were excellent. It was also nice sitting near a real fireplace on a cold April evening.

This restaurant is the rare pearl in an oyster We are going back because the menu was so enticing that we want to try everything

Valentines Day Dinner in the Library was so elegant and romantic.. The menu was extraordinary and dining was delectable! Our server Kate and the support staff were so kind and professional!

Had dinner there nov 30, looked forward to it,but was very disappointed ☹️ small portions and a price fixed menu of $120 pp appy, entree and dessert. I had An average salad, a miniature lobster tail and one fatty short rib, called surf and turf, a small pastry dessert.service was good but ended up costing $320. I will never go back, it’s a ripoff 🥴🥴 ps: bread was excellent

Our weekend get away included dinner at The Gables. Exceptional experience! Food and service was of the highest quality. We're more drawn to Cape May, but for a quick get away this was convenient. Now we found a great place to revisit.

Food and drinks: Our first time there, but I would imagine anything on the menu would be exceptional.
