We were a party of 4 on a recent Sunday night. There was on other table occupied. The service was attentive, the food delicious and the ambiance perfect. Although the price is a bit high the food and ambiance are worth it.
The food was excellent as always, and the service was wonderful. We celebrated our 1-year marriage anniversary here, and the staff went above and beyond by giving us a bottle opener and a cute “Happy Anniversary” sign. Such a thoughtful touch that made the evening extra special!
Have been a few times and it's a very good restaurant. The setting is inviting, the food very good and service attentive. It's not great value at $140 per person and several add-ons for dishes. Also, the tables, especially the ones for two, are uncomfortably too close together
Gables is top notch in every single way! The food is outstanding; service is friendly, helpful, and timely. The atmosphere carries you away for a few hours from this beach town into it's own little world of plants, flowers and nice, quiet dining rooms. 2nd time here and already can't wait for our next time!
When you have a price fixed three course menu at $140 I find it very annoying that every time I look at an entrée or appetizer that I feel I want to consider there's an up charge. Dissecting the $140 charge for dinner, It seems to me you are getting plenty for each particular section of your menu and the up charges seem a little excessive. Scallops from Viking village up charged? Are you serious.? You are reaching a point where we don't think we will return and we have been patrons with you for 20 years. My bill for dinner was over $400 (I brought my own wine)and I just don't think there's that kind of value in Beach Haven, New Jersey .
Incredible meal from start to finish everything made from scratch very fine dining. Worth the price.
A wonderful anniversary meal at the Gables as usual every year. Fried green tomatoes, Seabass and a strawberry tart where my meal and all was delicious.
Sondra and her entire crew always make dinning a magical experience. Their price fixe menu is always creative and delicious
The Gables is a favorite spot for our special occasions. The food, service and ambiance are all outstanding, as was the case last evening. The lovely weather and outside seating certainly added to the experience.
The Gables is a beautiful restaurant. Food is delicious. Portions good. Price is expensive esp because they have gone to a price fix menu. We preferred it when there were more menu choices in different price ranges.

This is our 3rd year dining at The Gables and it never fails to amaze us. Between the service from Erin, a visit from the owner, the outstanding food, and overall ambience, it was a highlight of our trip. Not to mention the special touches provided for my birthday that also made the occasion so special! Thank you guys. See you next summer!
A wonderful dining experience. Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was perfect.
The dining experience at the Gables never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is warm, friendly and efficient and the dining room created a lovely atmosphere to enjoy the meal with my beloved wife!
We dine here for special occasions but this one might be the last. It's been a few years and we know things are more expensive, but the value is not there. We were seated late from our reservation. Then when we were seated, it was 2 hours start to finish. Two tables next to us were seated after and got their food before us. The owner Steve was dining with his wife. He went around to each table to say hi and ask how everything was except for ours. They also got their food before us. Not sure if it was because we were in the corner, or because they put priority on the owner, but we felt like an after thought. Waitress Lori was disengaged and unapologetic. She came by infrequent but seemed to get stopped along the way to us to help her other tables, not realizing we were waiting on her. By the time she came by with water, she filled one of two glasses halfway, ran out, then left without coming back to finish refilling. Top it off, one of the desert orders was incorrect. We aren't ones to make a fuss, but this was not a $440 meal. I know places miss the mark at times but this was too much. Very charming location though.
Food and service were exquisite as always, a beautiful experience, thank you for making our night so special
