Perfect spot for coffee, snacks, and conversation with a jazz vibe. Sit for a while and chill. You’ll feel good about yourself.

I came to this coffee shop 2 times, it was just ok and overpriced, but the third time was my last. I walked through the door and no one was there to greet me, so I sat to use my laptop. 2 minutes later the owner (old man with glasses) storms out of the kitchen and said I 'can't just sit and work without greeting anyone'. But no one was there! He threatened to CALL THE POLICE ON ME 1 hour before closing as I walked out. That experience, the very outdated interior design and architecture left a very bad impression. I wanted this place to be a staple but I'm never going back. Please go support a real coffee shop in Montclair.

Weird vibe. I don't like the old man that's always there. His energy is weird and gives the place a strange vibe.

Cozy, clean and quiet, enjoyed the chai latte and quiche and selection of free books to read. Staff were nice and friendly. Will be going back soon!

Such a weird experience when I went there, I went to work (with my laptop) and the guy that I presume is the owner directed me to a specific table (when most were empty) and told me that I couldn’t use the charging ports, despite a few other people there working on their laptops. He mentioned the electricity costs of the establishment. So cringe and bizarre. Please establish a policy to either not have people work there, or allow anyone to work. You can’t just tell select people to basically leave because of your electric bill, this is one of the weirdest things I’ve encountered from a business in my life.

My husband just had the most shocking experience at this café. We have been patronizing this place for several years and this is the first time he has encounted the owner. My husband went in and ordered food, paid for it and sat down. Immediately the owner began to harass him about where he parked his car, which was in one of the legal spots in the front. After he was done harassing him about his car, he again came over and told him he needed to get up, but he didn’t just use his words, he proceeded to grab, my husband‘s coffee and pastry to move it for him. When my husband said that he would move, but for the owner not to touch his belongings, the owner began to yell at him and tell him that he’s not special and that he needed to leave. The owner proceeded to go to the few other patrons who were sitting and told them that the store was closing but they could come back in 15 minutes. He did not give such option to come back to my husband. When my husband left the store, he noticed that the other patrons just went to their car to wait so the owner could let them back in. As crazy as it sounds it seems like the owner literally closed down the shop just to get my husband out. We are never going to this place again. At first we thought it was a case of racism until we read other Google reviews where many others have also expressed that the owner is rude and can become unpredictably irate

Super space to work or relax. Went for a business meeting, now I’m looking forward to returning to cuddle with a book or get some work done. Great neighborhood location. Very friendly owners.

I love walking here on Saturday mornings to get some coffee and a croissant. Perfect little place to sit and read. Coffee is delicious with non dairy milk options and the croissant is and light and buttery. Staff is super friendly. I saw a review complaining about not being able to use laptops and cell phones, which is only partially true. Many people come and work on their laptops here and they even have a sign with the WiFi password, so don’t be fooled by that review. You can’t be on your cellphone, but personally I like that and I think it adds to the calm ambiance of the cafe. It’s perfect in my opinion.

Charming spot, great to meet up with a friend to chat. Just large enough to accommodate more than a handful of guests, just small enough to still be cozy. Food choices are unique and well-prepared. Staff is very efficient and pleasant. One suggestion I would make to staff prepping drinks would be to try and keep fingers off the rims of cups and glasses before serving. I notice. I'm sure others do. Google "Dishing Up Disease: Food Server Follies." Thanks!

The pastries & pastries are great. The owner however is so rude, I gave them another chance because we love to support locals businesses. But the owner is so rude. I politely asked to have a cruffin cut in half and you would have thought I asked for something major. I literally just wanted it cut down the middle to split and he was so abrupt and rude. Today was the last straw. The last time was giving him some input about not being at able to add more than one sugar when ordering ahead of time, then he too got super defensive. You don't like people, or your customer, don't go to your cafe and be around people . You are not a people person. You are beyond rude. People pay pretty high prices and yet you are so ungracious and ungrateful. You lost yet another customer. I'll make the drive to mtc. The staff and owner at the Corner are so nice.

Charming, cozy, comfortable. 23 Skiddoo Cafe is a pleasant way to start your day. Low-key but lively. Thoughtfully curated teas. Delicious pastries. Walls are decorated with tasteful paintings. I'm looking forward to trying their drinks menu and more of their pastries.
