Back in the 60's (yeah, yeah, do the math) there was the Moosehead. Prototypical corner bar in Washington Heights. I've been lucky enough to find Johnnies Tavern. Doesn't get better.

Really one of the coolest dive bars I've been to, kind of a one stop shop for when the liquor and convenience stores close as well. Extremely cheap, friendly service, cash only. My kind of place.

Best Bar in North Jersey by far. The ownership/bartenders/patrons are all great. Phenomenal bar pies and awesome hot dogs!! Highly recommended! If you're close by, stop in for a bar-pie & beer!
