Historic bar. I tagged along with Earl Lukens, a family friend, around 1950. Earl worked at Stokes State Forest for decades and and would stop for a beer without his wife knowing. Years later I stopped by with a army buddy after fishing on the Delaware and someone came in and flopped a large beaver on the floor that he had trapped.
Absolutely a beautiful place to meet up and have some ice cold beer or some drinks. Walk out back behind the bar and you are literally at the water's edge. Highly recommend GYP s tavern. On special days they will have someone out back clean the guitar when we were there on a Saturday the individual was outstanding.
First time visiting to Gyp's Tavern.
Christina greeted us when we arrived and told the story of Gyp & Babe Ruth, who fished and hunted in the area. Nice display in the back room. Great little Tavern to kick back on the patio, overlooking Lake Kittattiny. Today, Smokin' Mo's Southern BBQ was the food truck serving up great pulled pork, chicken and a variety of sizes. Well worth stopping in and look forward to a return visit.
