“This place was a diamond in the rough. What a great find. My wife wanted to sit outside by a lake and eat comfort food and Mountain House Tavern and Grill did not disappoint. And, major added plus, service was great and our server, Alicia, was exceptional on a busy Saturday night. Oh, and dog friendly with a Pup Food menu.“

“Was in the Newton area so I stopped to have some breakfast, a friend of mine recommended the Hampton diner so I went in to check it out.
Upon entering there was a beautiful Christmas tree.
Nice and spacious. Pleasant staff.
I had toasted bagel with Lox. Very good I should say the way the plate was decorated looked very appealing.

“We had a 50 person party yesterday I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet they put out for us and I have to give a HUGE shout out to Matt (I’m pretty sure that was his name. Big smile and his hair in a bun). He was the wait staff taking care of all of us and he killed it! Super pleasant and he worked his butt off to serve us all. If you get Matt, take good care of him!!!!“

And the young owners are so sweet and attentive.( But I hope they get a louder phone so they can hear the incoming phone calls that may be customers wanting to order-they missed 3 or so. They even did not see a customer coming in to order food for her family for takeout. Even though we all tried to get their attention in the kitchen). Minor stuff, of course. “This place is so charming and the food is incredible!!! We sat outside and enjoyed pancakes with berries and the special sweet potato bowl with spinach, mushrooms and pulled pork. They also have espresso drinks and my cappuccino was served with a sprinkle of cinnamon, a lovely touch. This is a wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch“

The employees have changed over the years but they value customer satisfaction more than anything. They are always nice and respectful. “Drumell is hands down the BEST Applebee’s employee I’ve ever met. The guy was explaining the apps and drinks like he designed the menu himself. He knows his stuff so well that when I found out he’s only been here about two weeks, I couldn’t believe it. I would’ve guessed two years — maybe even twenty with how smooth and confident he is.

The energy he brings is contagious. He makes you want to order everything just because of how well he describes it. Honestly, he’s wasted not being a server. If Drumell was my server, I’d be throwing money at him left and right.

Applebee’s, if you’re listening: promote this man. Drumell is the kind of employee that makes people come back again and again. 🌟“
