About Louisa's Cafe

Louisa's Cafe offers an intimate, vegan-friendly dining experience in Washington Street Mall. The menu features delightful dishes like chilled cucumber soup, Ginger Sesame Peanut noodles, Atlantic salmon with a lemon barbecue sauce, local scallops, and local flounder. Customers praise the excellent service and fresh, well-seasoned food, with many noting that the heirloom tomato salad, crab cakes, and blackened baby bluefish are particularly fresh and well-prepared. Some recent reviews mention that the menu is limited for vegetarians and suggest improvements in the side dishes, as one customer preferred different sides to the organic rice and cabbage. Desserts are a highlight, with customers raving about the homemade Key lime pie and vanilla bread pudding in a whiskey sauce, describing them as superb. Although the restaurant is small with tables close together, the welcoming and attentive staff and the outstanding food keep it a favorite spot for many visitors in Cape May. Some reviews do mention the need for improvement in the ambience due to waitress traffic near the kitchen.

Dessert was shamefully small for 12 dollars a slice, but was the only tasty thing of the whole entire meal.

Fresh and interesting menu. Everything we had was perfect. Smoked salmon and noodle aps were both great starters to share. Scallops, crab cakes, swordfish entrees were delicious. The desserts were lovely and generous portions. Not surprised to hear that this is a perennial favorite for many regulars.
