We visited the Magnolia Room at the Chalfonte excited to try a place with such a long history. The building and porch are beautiful and create a charming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service felt disorganized and not especially welcoming. My dining companion really enjoyed the corn and crab chowder, which was the highlight. But the rest of the meal was underwhelming. We had high hopes for the fried chicken, and while the portion was generous and the meat was moist, it just lacked...
We had two excellent meals at the magnolia room during our recent stay at the Chalfonte. I hadn’t been in years and was very impressed. The atmosphere still has that southern charm, but it doesn’t feel stale or tired the way it kind of did right before the pandemic. The staff was lovely and laid back, even with our large party and rowdy kiddos. The wine and cocktail list was great. The salty vesper is my new favorite drink in Cape May and the espresso martini...
Love this Southern dining. Service was great, best drinks in town, and the food was remarkable. Super fresh scallops and the sweet potato hash was delicious. Dessert is their specialty and was one of my favorites of all time . Can’t wait to go back
