It was a nice place but the coffee definitely tastes burnt. I was not the only one in my party that said that. Maybe was just an off day, but we'll definitely give them a chance in the future.

Great coffee shop right by the downtown main shopping area on Washington Street. They roast their own beans. Super friendly and knowledgeable about Cape May. Baked goods were excellent.

Parking: First half hour is free.

While many of the Cape May coffee shops are pouring commercial coffee like Colombe, this place is roasting and brewing their own, and doing an incredible job. Specifically their iced coffee is some of the best I’ve had!

I’ve been going to Out There during my family’s annual trip to Cape May for years now and I can still say it’s one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The menu is large but not overwhelming with lots of fun drinks I have not seen anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and patient with those of us who are indecisive when standing in front of an exciting menu and the owners are just the loveliest people! Super knowledgeable about coffee and their products. Great baked goods too !

How do I start? Maybe don’t come here so the line will be short for me?

If want really…really good beans, roast, and extraction for an absolutely heavenly experience Out There Coffee is where you need to go. The cashier offers me light roast or dark for my espresso, I’m sorry, where am I that I get choices for espresso roasts?! Incredible.

I chose the light roast for my whole milk cortado. What can I say, I just smiled ear to ear after my first sip. These people know their stuff.

I’ll be going back as many times as possible before I leave Cape May!

Great place owners are amazing. Amazing roasted coffee……

Great coffee. Their equipment is very high quality and their coffee is fresh off the roast. They offer both light and dark roasts for espresso and espresso based drinks. This is only done at specialty coffee shops that really understand the value of each. They also offer fresh roasted whole bean coffee to buy. Great place for a standard cup of coffee or a coffee enthusiast looking for something new.

Friendly staff, and amazing coffee.

Loved the choice of light or dark roast for espresso drinks.

I'm not big on iced coffee typically but the lumberjack here was excellent. The flavors in the coffee manage to really shine through, which is rare in my experience, despite it being an iced and maple syrup sweetened drink.

I was wrongfully charged when visiting earlier this summer on 7/26. I remember the waitress offered to switch my drink since the first was too strong. When I ordered a pastry, I wasn't informed it had coconut until it was brought to the table and then immediately told them I was allergic. I was having a tough day, visibly emotional as I was catching up with friends in the dinning area and was admittantly a bit distracted so I didn't notice how much I was charged as we were checking out. $19.15 appeared on my credit card statement for apparently 1 coffee drink and the waitress said they didn't take tip via card so I had stupidly left a $5 bill in the tip jar for them being so "understanding" and "patient" with my replacement drink. Why would someone be so crude to charge you for their mistakes? There are better artisanal coffee shops that don't kick people when they're down.

Best Coffee on the island. Owners are passionate about their coffee beans and quality. Creative coffee drinks. I’m a big fan of the healthy cocoa- iced in the summer, hot in the winter. Highly recommend this over the other caffeine options in CM.
