I always get my coffee from here when I’m in Cape May. Best coffee, hands down.

Out There Coffee is a gem in Cape May! My wife and I stopped in for a quick coffee break and loved everything about it. She ordered a matcha, I had an iced latte, and we also picked up a pound of their organic house blend beans (roasted just a few days earlier). Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier — everyone behind the counter was genuinely kind and helpful. As someone who’s very particular about coffee and usually makes it at home with organic beans, I was impressed not only by the quality but also by the fact that it’s organic and still so reasonably priced.

They’ve got a nice variety of drinks, and while I’d love to see the snack and pastry selection grow, the coffee itself is clearly the star here — and they really deliver. Highly recommend if you’re in Cape May!

I had their cappuccino and enjoyed it. It was good/standard. I was a little surprised their 8oz included two shots of espresso, but that's not a bad thing). Just be aware it may be stronger than a cappuccino elsewhere. With a stronger coffee to milk flavor profile. They had a nice variety of hot non-coffee drink options (eg golden milk, chai, matcha, other unique blends) and I appreciate they noted on their menu which had sweeteners and which did not. I didn't have any food, so can't comment on it's quality. They had protein balls and muffins from what I saw this morning. They seem to have a smaller food selection than other cafés in the area. I was just there for the coffee, but keep this in mind if a large food selection is important to you. Friendly and personable staff. It was about 0730 on a Sunday when I visited and it was a very short wait. As time approached 0745, a line formed. The cost is pricey by everyday standards, but on par for a beach town and similar to other cafés in the area. Their default is to serve in paper cups for hot beverages, but if you are dining in and specifically ask for a mug, they'll accommodate your request. Of note, based on the size of the mugs I saw, this may only apply to 8oz drinks. They have a nice bench inside that usually is for those waiting for their orders to be fulfilled, but since it was pretty empty during my visit, they didn't mind my reading there while drinking my coffee for 15 or so minutes. Eco-friendliness is an important factor for my patronage, so I was very pleased and appreciative that they had this option. Will definitely visit again.

Great experience, the coffee was great. The iced coffee and go getter coffee were really good! I also enjoyed the blueberry muffins! There isn’t a place to sit, it’s a grab and go place, that’s the only downside. But the coffee and pastries were delicious

Their coffee is fantastic but a big bummer that they’re not actually open until 2. Got there 10 minutes to closing and they had already shut their doors. The hours are already limited as it is was surprised they won’t even let you in 10 minutes to 2. Guess I’ll be back next summer.

Found stroopies for our kiddo with Celiac (and tons of other celiac GF snacks!) and grabbed my small coffee and espresso each day we were there. Incredible taste, love their story of how they got started. Can’t wait to come back. (Lady at the register was the nicest human in the world). <3

Super cool place , not very many food options and coffee options for a shop on the strip . Coffee wasn’t too bad but not the best . They were super quick!

It was a nice place but the coffee definitely tastes burnt. I was not the only one in my party that said that. Maybe was just an off day, but we'll definitely give them a chance in the future.

Great coffee shop right by the downtown main shopping area on Washington Street. They roast their own beans. Super friendly and knowledgeable about Cape May. Baked goods were excellent.

Parking: First half hour is free.

While many of the Cape May coffee shops are pouring commercial coffee like Colombe, this place is roasting and brewing their own, and doing an incredible job. Specifically their iced coffee is some of the best I’ve had!

I’ve been going to Out There during my family’s annual trip to Cape May for years now and I can still say it’s one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The menu is large but not overwhelming with lots of fun drinks I have not seen anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and patient with those of us who are indecisive when standing in front of an exciting menu and the owners are just the loveliest people! Super knowledgeable about coffee and their products. Great baked goods too !
