We went there 2-3 years ago for dinner and it was pretty good though expensive and limited selection. For the past 2 summers it is closed and for sale, the building seems to be remaining as a guest house but there is no restaurant so TRIP ADVISOR PLEASE DELETE!!!
I too have a gift card that I wished to use. I just went online and saw that they are only a guest house now. If they have a for sale sign out front then if they are still open I wouldn't trust their service.
Delicious food and friendly staff would love to go back
This review is based on a previous visit. I received a gift certificate for the Blue Rose Inn & Restaurant. I resently called to make reservation with no answer and the mailbox was full. I sent an email with no response. After researching online I found a posting that they were permanently cosed! Again I tried calling and finally was able to talk to someone from the Inn who informed me that the restaurant was closed but the Inn was still functioning. They would honor my gift certificate for rooms only, with a minimum of 2 nights (which is on their website). My problem is that my $100.00 gift certif was intended to be used at the restaurant. I have stayed at the Inn before and been very happy with the accomodations/service and especially enjoyed the restaurant. We are now coming to the end of the year and since the Gift Certif is dated it will run out in December 2019. When I asked if the Inn would just let me use the certificate for one night, she was adamant saying, "its a 2 night minimum". The lady on the phone countered that at time the certif was purchased, they didn't know they were going to close the restaurant. I feel that since they are only offering half of the services they had at the time of purchase that they could make exceptions. This is a poor way to do business. Any suggestion I made for redeeming the certif was quickly dismissed. I feel my only recourse is to contact the BBB and this review. When I suggested my intentions her response was, " You go for it", so I am. The sad thing is that this was a gift from my family. How do you tell your children that they wasted their money because you couldn't reach a compromise.
We had a wonderful dinner here last year. Portion sizes were perfect. Staff was very professional. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a special dessert for birthday guy. Sat on the deck and it was a lovely evening.
We go for their chocolate themed dinner and it’s always amazing. A great building with lots of character, friendly staff and great food.
Excellent and creative food. Attentive and informative service. Owner was very down to earth and a great guy especially considering how fantastic this place is.
The food is good and the waiters are professional. The portion sizes are extremely small for the price, but I suppose you get that at places like this.
Hands down the best Restaurant in Cape May. My wife and I have sat down multiple times at just about every restaraunt in Cape May, from the Ugly Mug to Peter Shields. Our top picks: The Ebbitt Room, The Washington Inn, and Union Square (for their seafood), but The Blue Rose climbs well above the rest. The quality and detail to each entree is spectacular. If you're a foodie and attempting to utilize Yelp to find that hidden gem in Cape May, the Blue Rose is it. I would also like to mention the fine decor, which I don't often comment on, but at the Blue Rose it's worth noting. Very classy and very deserving of every dollar spent.
We went for their Chocolate feast and had a very nice time. We are going to try dinner sometime. My only complaint was the hostess was rather abrupt with some of the people with me. Not very professional I feel.

The food was so delicious and fresh Our waiter was so helpful and pleasant, and the owner made a point to come to all the tables. Quaint room, perfect location within walking distance from our B&B Casablanca which was also Extraordinary!!!!
Our first time ever in Cape May. What a great dining experience to start out our visit! I would definitely return to the Blue Rose.
Beautiful setting. Menu is exceptional and well prepared. Suggest you make reservations ahead. This is a very popular place.
Great atmosphere, great service and of course a great meal. Located off the Washington St. Mall. Parking is available.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Loved the garlic bread, burrata, arctic char, and chevre flan. When each course came out, I wondered if it would be as good as the last, and it was. Service was impeccable. Enjoyed sitting out on the porch. Will return on our next vacation to Cape May.
