Came here for an early dinner. Went based on the reviews and unfortunately we’re disappointed. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not the best. The tuna was not fishy, however not as fresh or flavorful is expected. The sushi rolls for the price paid were very underwhelming. The crispy rice appetizer with spicy tuna had poor taste and seemed it had stuff added to it.

Updated 9 years later. Still our favorite.

Been coming here for over 15 years and it’s still my local favorite Japanese style restaurant. Food is consistently good, both sushi and kitchen. Menu hasn’t changed much over the years but that’s fine, as they stay true to their strengths. A wholehearted nod to their traditional Japanese and Asian fusion flavors. Great little story: more than 20 years ago I found myself inexplicably single (lol) and walked into Mitsuba (Chatham) just as it opened — I might have been their second-ever customer. I scanned the menu and wanted a lot of sushi, but not the Full “Love Boat.” I told them, “I’m not in love, and that’s too much food. Can I get something about half the size and half the price?”
