Best Open Mic in NJ
Usually love this place! Was disappointed today that the 4pm show was not outside (on a beautiful day) as advertised but it doesn't mean I won't be back - just maybe will be calling to confirm from now on. Vibe is always good here and music is consistently enjoyable.
EDIT: Thanks for the reply Bernies! I thought all 4pm shows in the summer were outside. It was just too nice to sit inside today. But I'm looking forward to visiting again soon!

Bernie's Hillside Lounge is a local favorite that hosts live music performances, including Dead cover bands and other genres. The restaurant offers a good selection of beers and fair prices. The atmosphere is laid-back and chill, with friendly staff and a great crowd. Despite some suggestions for improvements, the establishment is considered family and home-like.
The inside has a rustic feeling, providing a perfect place to have a brew and some conversation. There is also a great stage area and a dance floor. The outside area is enticing, with tables made from a felled tree from the property and a nice size grassy field for blankets if the provided seating is not preferred.
The bar has a youthful 1960s-70s atmosphere, with no frills but a great vibe. Customers have enjoyed seeing bands on multiple occasions, and the bar staff is great. While there is no food, the drinks are the focus.
