A no frills cafe, great for a lite snack or drinks. Friendly staff, quick service and very reasonably priced.

Built in 1937 and originally known as “Lookout Inn, my partner and I decided to stop at the State Line Lookout Cafe after a nice hike for a bite. This casual establishment is a throwback to yesteryear inside a nice stone cabin with fireplaces to warm up during cold weather and the only restaurant/cafe around in the nearby area.

I was greeted by the young staff. Their simple menu is a little diverse, from breakfast sandwiches, various burgers, and hot dogs to fries, but nothing too fancy.

We decided on a cheeseburger, a tuna fish salad sandwich, large fries to share, and drinks for takeout.

Service was friendly and quick. Prices are quite reasonable, and the food was hot, freshly prepared, and tasty.

We can recommend it.

Love this place but is there anything we can do about the Lantern Flies?

Hate to be the one, but the vending machine overcharged me at $5 when all the prices were listed at $3. Think twice before using the vending machine outside.

Was in the area to hike over and saw this little cafe was open. Stopped in with the girlfriend for breakfast/ lunch and we were delightfully surprised how pleasant the service and food was.

We ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a bacon cheeseburger on a roll. Got a gatorade as well and bill came out to $17 which was actually pretty good. The fried egg was yummy and a little runny in a good way. The bacon on both sandwiches was perfectly done and not too charred or chewy.

Have the mention the view is worth the drive. The staff was friendly and that’s always the icing on the cake. 100% will be visiting again.

The road approaching the lookout and the crossing point of the Long Path trail appears as the meeting point of Mark and Cobel in Severance S2E9

Hidden gem alert big time!! Stateline lookout Cafe of the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Alpine is a must hit up. Food is basic but on point, prices are like 1990s. This eclectic rustic historic gem 💎 is a throwback to yesteryearl with really cool guys working it, music rocks and the views, trails and welll... up to you now. I've said enough. Dynamite!

I really like this place as a rest stop along the Palisades parkway. There's no gas just food and restrooms and great views and even a hiking trail. And who cannot love a rest area that has a working fireplace?

Simple place to get some food and warm drinks in Winter, cool drinks in the summer. They've got maps and books for sale. Only problem? Not enough indoor space for the tables. Outdoors is okay in the summer when it's crowded. But it's always crowded here, especially in the summer. They close the parking lot when it gets full. Be prepared to park somewhere else like the boy scout camp on the other side.

I always try to stop in here when cycling up 9W - I like the old log cabin vibe.
Visitors should be aware that, unlike for other restaurants, the posted closing times are when everyone, visitors and staff alike, need to leave the building - kitchen closes 45 mins, and bathrooms 15 mins prior to allow for cleaning.

Nice place to visit, you can walk around free, sit on the overlook
get a snack or two or just open your car windows or sit at the tables. Very clean area, love to visit there!
