We tried this place for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised, the food was delicious, service was very good, as servers were very attentive to our needs, we arrived at 5, after making reservations, we ate dinner inside, as they also have outdoor seating, again… food was delicious, everything from salad, to appetizer to dinner was delicious, I would definitely recommend this place, and for my husband and I, I know we will be going back ? and I feel in today’s date…prices were very reasonable.Vegetarian options: Plenary of salads, or pastaParking: Shared parking lot with other businesses, but there were plenty of spots

 greeted nicely, but got seated at a very small table, and a very cramped room-even the servers were having a hard time passing--extremely loud in there, not pleasurable to eat with that much noise-I felt like the server was not warm and friendly and that not too informative with menu-are meals happen to be very good. I will say we enjoyed it.--came to dessert time, and at 7:15 at night. The server says they ran out of decaffeinated cappuccino.--how do you ever run out of decaffeinated when people have health issues? Very strange I feel server was not motivating and helping customers satisfaction.--Anyhow, they do have an outside, which seems more appealing, less crowded and doesn't hold the noise level as the inside does because it being so small---would probably revisit and see how that works.

The food was absolutely delicious! We sat outside in the tent and the live music was great but the music did become very loud. I would say just take it down a slight notch and it would've been perfect

This is a byob in a strip mall in cranford. I haven't been there in years but had a delicious meal here tonight. We went on a Friday and got there at 7 pm with no reservations in January. We sat down immediately. They had a special menu and regular menu. I had shrimp over pappardelle w sun dried tomato and garlic. The pasta tasted home made and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Our servers were prompt. Its a small place with an intimate atmosphere. Some of the desserts were sold out. All in all we really liked it, the prices are fair, too.

Il Gabbiano has a warm, inviting atmosphere and staff. Every meal served was delicious, including the salmon, pork osso bucco, and chicken vodka parmigiano. We did wait some time for our meals to be served but we didn’t mind and it was well worth the wait anyway. I’d give 10 stars if I could.
We are new to the area and first try this restaurant on a very crowded night. They were very attentive and everything we tried was delicious. Very nice Italian food and atmosphere. We had the seafood combination dish and chicken franchise. Everything was excellent. My wife and I went there for a New Years Eve dinner. I made a reservation over a week prior and asked whether they would have their regular menu or a special one and I was told a special one but it would not be ready in a few days. So. A few days later, my wife called and they said to call later in the week. Called again, no menu. Finally called the day of and was told no change in menu but there may be a few additions. When we arrived we were given a completely different menu with"New Years Eve" pricing and were told the regular menu was not available. Now I don't begrudge them trying to make a buck but at least be forthcoming about it like many of the other restaurants in town were. On top of that, the service was so rushed we couldn't enjoy our meal. We were rushed through a three course meal in 50 minutes. Clearly they were more concerned with getting us out the door then providing a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. As for the food, I had pork osso bucco and my wife had scallops and pasta with a rice ball appetizer. Food was well prepared if under flavored.

Excellent food, really delicious and plenty of it. Staff were very attentive and polite. Chef came out and spoke to all the tables. It's a neighborhood gem and BYOB helps keep the cost reasonable.
