Wasai is the real deal — authentic, top‑quality Japanese cuisine that rivals what I’ve had in Japan, plus beautifully executed French dishes. It’s a small, cozy spot, which is exactly why everything tastes so dialed‑in. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for excellence, this place delivers.
Bring a pillow if you prefer being comfortable sitting on flimsy bistro chairs. Otherwise, prepare for a treat. An authentic fusion French-Japanese restaurant seems an odd combination, but it works remarkably well. There are relatively few main courses to select from, chicken, duck, baby lamb chops and others, but this is a good thing because they’re all cooked to perfection. This is the best sushi I have ever had. The restaurant is really cute inside and service is always good. Every once in a while I try a new sushi place just to change things up, and I almost always regret it, wishing I had gone to Wasai instead.
