“Posted up in the center of the pub. Me and these two mad lads started drilling. Ice was about 4 inches and ol' Stout was struggling to breach through the ice. After a few minutes of turmoil he was finally able to break and we heard the glorious rush of the water gushing like a foutian out of the portal to the dark unknown. We stood there conquistadors above a murky gold; fish. We set our thrones upon the ice and readied our rods. Our mouths watering at the thought of the first fish. With bait and hand a glee in our hearts we awaited the first bite. But folks, as everyone knows, fishing isn't about the catch nor the side of the fish. But it's the spot and the friends we make along the way. We caught no fish, not even ol' Stout. But we had a splendid time, and like the conquistadors of old we left with nothing. Oh yea and there's uhh ... darts in the back or something.“

“The night before my wife's 50th high school reunion (North Plainfield, class of 1975), a large group of the attendees went to a pre-party at Ellery's. The pizza served here was pretty good, but it was a little greasy. Besides plain, they offered sausage and a few other styles. The restaurant also served wings and salad, which I passed on. The get together ended with a great selection of fancy cookies, where I really over-indulged.“

“For a hotel, it certainly was refreshing. Traveling a lot you don't always get the best food selection.
With that said, the crispy Brussels sprouts, OH-EM-GEE. Hear me out. They were the best thing I think I've eaten...in well, ever. It wasn't just the whole Brussels sprout itself, it was mostly the outer skins that was coated in seasonings, oil, and crispy. They were SO GOOD!
I definitely recommend the French Onion soup as well, we had that twice. 😋“
“Very inviting atmosphere. Lucas the nanager always is eager too make sure myself and guests are having a great experience. The staff is second to none. Lee the bartender is fat friendly and I'm tip if everything his knowledge is great. The rest of the staff is always excellent and friendly“

“Delicious food. Great service by Sydney! It started with amazing honey bread at the table. Flatbreads yum, especially the one with fig topping. Muscles, tuna tartare, noodle flush, brussel sprouts, calamari salad, and more! All yum! Would absolutely go there again. We had 8-10 people and the service was excellent.“

“I like this bar a lot because it's close to where I live. Very friendly staff, clean bathrooms and good happy hour specials. 5 jumbo wings for 5 bucks. They were pretty good too. And DJ Moist absolutely kills it on Friday nights with the old school hip hop and rnb. And best of all, it's right near one of the best taco trucks in ktown. Thank you for the good times, 1933 Room.“

“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. We recommend it highly and urge lovers of fine dining to not wait but reserve a table NOW. We're sure you'll find it to be as special as we do.“
“I had awesome experience here the food was great good atmosphere and I must say the service was top notch our bartender for the night was a lady named Torrie the drinks where great definitely give the Hennessy and Pineapple a try that's one of her signature drinks you won't be disappointed she's was also very attentive to costumers needs The food was very enjoyable and fairly priced the the rib entrée with mashed sweet potatoes and brocolli was the excellent full of flavor and the ribs where tender with a great sauce I also had the garlic parmesan wings extremely flavorful and crisp done to perfection I was impressed so I asked to meet the chef and I was greeted with a smile thank you Chef Terry and crew I will definitely be returning and I recommend this place for you will have a great experience thanks again to the Bogarts crew“

“I've been going to the South River Pub for many many years and I used to bartend there as well. It's my hometown bar and I love it. My mom knew the owners and i grew up with their kids and they have become like family. I particularly love karaoke night on Fridays with DJ Rob, who has become a dear friend to me over the years as well. The regulars are fun, kind and caring people and when I go there it feels like family. Like “Cheers.†They don't serve food but you can bring your own if you like. Sometimes for special events and football, Lil will make a little food buffet for the customers. It's always a fun time.“

“I recently visited the District 7 Restaurant & Bar and had an amazing experience. The BBQ chicken wings at the bar were delicious. What stood out the most was the exceptional service provided by Edei, who made the best Old Fashioned cocktails in New Jersey. Highly recommend this place for a great experience!“

“Came here with my girlfriend, I wouldn't say it was exactly welcoming at first. It's a local old school type of bar. Well know in the neighborhood. They do sell food but like any local bar that does you have to catch them at the moment everyone is ordering because its literally one person behind the bar. Prices are good and if you want to chat over some games and a drink this is the spot. Reminds me of the Alibi from shameless.“
