I absolutely love Lite & Soul. Great quality!Their food is delicious and fresh, and the portions are generous, in my opinion. I've tried a few different entrées. You really can't go wrong with whatever you decide. My husband loves it too! This allows me a night off in my kitchen. lol
Where should i began i seen the food on ig from a food blogger a said why not ! First visit i called to verify the store was open she said yes i get there an it’s not a now no one’s answering the phone ! I wait for about 15 mins an the owner’s daughter come to the door on her phone i ask hey are you’ll opening she says oh yea wait a min I’m waiting on my mom ? so final 20 mins after opening time me an the other young man waiting now is waiting inside for about another 30 mins ? 2 other ladies walk in we all finally place orders after about 40 minutes. The owner comes out and says some of the things that we ordered I’m not ready and will take about an 40 mins to be ready. So after already wasting so much time I told them to just change my order to something that was ready sitting there talking to the other people waiting another hour has went bye I arrive at 12 I left at 2:30 with no food but every Muslim that came in got fast service! so I decided to give it another try I decided to go around closing time Got there. Young man took my order about 10 minutes later after my arrival I get home my food was horrible. The greens had no seasoning . The yams had too much nutmeg and the ribs were dry. FromSitting on the boiler too long, an my portions was small for a $25 meal ! I must say the cornbread was good very unpleased with the service the owner is extremely ghetto an do not care i will never go back

Went during the first few days of Ramadan when the sun started to go down. Called my order in at 6 and didn’t get my food until a little after 7 when they told me it would take 30 min. Almost felt like orders were being pushed in front of mine b/c I wasn’t Muslim. The collard greens taste like water, the yams were bland also (just cut up sweet potato with a lil honey) My wings were so big and soggy b/c they drowned it in the sauce. I was so disappointed. I picked at the food and trashed it. First impressions are everything I would not eat here again. The only good thing is the lady who took my order over the phone was nice.

Literally worse experience. I NEVER leave a google review because I know how it is to have your own business but the audacity these people have. We got there around 2:00 and by the time I paid it was it was 2:09. We order the beef short ribs and the oxtails (this came out to $50 and I paid $5 extra for tip). Red flag number one should have been when we asked for the wait time, they said they couldn't provide one. That's okay because we didn't mind the wait. After an hour and 20 minutes we decided to go back inside and check if the order was done because we still hadn't received the text. When my significant other goes back in they told him another 20 minutes. After another 20 mins of no text (to confirm the order was ready) he went back inside. As he's in there for another 10 minutes he comes back to the car and says that we should consider a refund because they told him it would be another hour before it's ready. At this point it's been 2 hours since we ordered and this would have made it 3 hours so we decided to cancel. Their method of payments are just cash and Zelle so I Zelled the number they gave us. After about 15 mins of waiting for someone to return our money, I only received the $50 back. When we informed them they said they can't refund tips. We didn't even get our food! Tips are for your service that you are provided, which wasn't even given (I know $5 isn't a lot and gratefully I didn't pay them more). Instead of arguing after waiting 2 hours we left.
Being from the south Everything about this place is amazing. I was so hurt when I ate everything on my plate. The greens, I can't stop thinking about them. And the apple cobbler, I almost cried when I ate the last bite. I was curious about the crosstown drink and tried it. It did NOT disappoint. I found my new soul food place and can't wait to return.

Must try this spot. Friendly service and the food was great! Got fried whiting platters with Mac and cheese, candied yams and greens. Nothing disappointed. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Jersey.

My family and I ordered Chicken Wings, Hawaiian Wings, Fish, and the Steak and Take (Cheesesteak), just to try everything out. Nice portion sizes, food looked and tasted delicious. Hawaiian wings weren't too sweet, drenched in sauce but still crunchy. For the amount of food we ordered, it didn't take long only about 45 mins. Inside of restaurant is cozy and a good place to sit an eat at. Overall would recommend.
