Finally, an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in my area!! My first time eating there, and I left as a dedicated customer who will return many times. The taste was as close to my mom's cooking that I wanted to go into the kitchen and see if she was actually cooking the food. These are the kind of places you don’t want to go under. They’re not your typical jersey Italian by the dozen eateries. Simply sofrito is authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in a no frills place. Great puertorrican food restaurant. I ate the mofongo with pernil and it was as if was eating in my grandmas house. The arroz manposteao was savory and the carne frita flavorful and tender. The flan de coco was creamy and reminded me of turron de coco. Service was great and food was on time. Parking is on the back of the building. Even the music was good. I will go back.
