incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming. We loved our poke bowl — honestly, we haven’t had one this good anywhere in NJ. It’s definitely the best around the area. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Do not get the pineapple. It tasted like nail polish remover. Honestly all of the ingredients did not taste fresh. Ended up throwing out my bowl after a few bites.

The girls working behind the poke station were sooo sweet and thoughtful. They offered me a tray and chopsticks when I asked. The toppings were so fresh and well portioned, even the sauces were sooo good. I would recommend the salmon and ahi tuna marinated for choice of protein!! Definitely will come back here again and let others know ❤️❤️❤️

It’s remarkable that I could be as excited for a poke bowl as when I was first introduced to it 8 years ago. Over the years, the novelty factor has worn off, prices gone up, and the ingredients dwindled. I didn’t stop by Ciao Poke with high hopes and I was wrong. Ciao Poke rebooted the ingredients list and added more. I saw double the normal choices for proteins, and I was so happy to see lotus chips which was removed from my go-to poke joint years ago. I was also delighted to see, for the first time, Furikake for crunches, Oshinko for mix-ins, and both Kani and Hijiki salads in addition to the normal seaweed salad for toppings.
The interior area is also an upgrade to my traditional poke joint experience. It’s not takeout only or small ad hoc eating area, but a spacious trendy dining space.
Lastly, the size of the bowl is also among the largest I have seen, and for a very seasonable price of $13.50.
Yes, I will be back!!!

Best poke in Edison. So happy this restaurant is in my area. It’s always great to grab a tuna bowl with a shake from mango mango. However I do wish they did give more rice.

After playing pickleball, we decided to give this Poke place a try since it’s in HMART plaza. A fancy place must have good standards in serving customers. NO! What we saw was SHOCKING.
Only one lady who was in the front made the bowls and processed the payments. There was only one man in the kitchen and then there is a small window that looks like it’s from next door, Mango Mango. So there’s only two employees working on a Sunday night.
We were a group of five. Our friends who ordered 2 spicy tuna poke bowls from the special ‘signature’ section was in front us. As I was holding my daughter, I saw my friends paid without getting their bowls. Then the lady went to us and asked what did we want to order, we wanted to create our own bowl. She created our bowls in front of us.
I was thinking to myself, wow, the ordering was so quick for our friends, but WHERE ARE THEIR BOWLS?!?! We paid and brought our bowls to the table. My friend’s table was empty and we wanted to eat together as a group. Our other friend created a bowl and ordered french fries. Once he got his bowl and fries, I looked and asked our friends, what happened to their food. They told me that they paid and are still waiting.
Our friends were waiting for a LONG TIME. The lady was working on making another group of five bowls and these were college girls. They wanted to create their own bowls and that took a while. Some of them asked the lady to put sauce on the side, so more wasted time went by. My friend was standing there trying to get the lady’s attention, but it went un-noticed.
I have worked in Japanese cuisine for 15 years and I have not seen this where customer service is LOUSY. My wife and friends were trying to get the lady’s attention and FINALLY my friends were heard. The lady made some excuse and let my friends choose a drink from the fridge. Well, it’s nice that my friends got some drinks on the house, but my friends were waiting HALF AN HOUR for their food.
The lady finally finished the college girls bowls and started making our friends bowls. She took the physical menu and created the spicy tuna poke bowl. It took another 5 mins and then she dropped the bowls to the pick up station. She just pointed and say “here”, like there was no feeling from her. Our friends took the food and we finally got to eat.
My friends started to eat and realized that one ingredient was not supposed to be there. There was MANGO. This lady seems like she is new and it’s her first day working. Where is her supervisor?!?! There was a line and I don’t think our friends can wait again to get the lady’s attention on the mistake that she clearly made. She should have clearly read the menu when she was making it. The lights in the restaurant are bright and she took time to make the bowls. Not sure what happened there.
We tried the food and it’s not amazing. There’s other places that have higher quality ingredients and better customer service.

I have walked by this place numerous times since its opening and always wondered why it was so empty. If you know anything about the Edison H-Mart Plaza, every other restaurant is usually packed. Well, after one of the most HORRIBLE restaurant experiences I have ever had, I now know why.
We arrived on a Sunday evening and there was initially no one else in the store aside from one worker at the counter. We decided to order the Spicy Tuna Poke from the Signature menu, basically a pre-set ingredient bowl. The worker was surprised, as if she did not know that was even an option. I had to literally point at the menu screen behind her to let her know what I was talking about. Instead of making the bowl, I was instructed to move up and pay for my two bowls first. A little confused, I figured maybe someone else would make the bowl in the back kitchen so I paid for the meal and took a seat.
However, no one made my bowl. I waited 15 minutes and watched as three other customers who arrived after me receive their bowls. I then went to the counter and watched as FIVE other customer's bowls were made. The employee tried to make an excuse that my bowls needed special preparation but there was nothing special about the ingredients in the bowl I ordered. I have never been to a build-your-own bowl establishment where you are punished for picking one of their signature bowls with a set ingredient list.
I usually try not to make a big deal of waiting because I understand how difficult it can be as a worker with not enough help, but watching as EIGHT other orders were completed by people who arrived after you is frankly inexcusable and horrible customer service.
The icing on the cake was after finally receiving our bowls after 25 minutes of waiting, it was made incorrectly by adding MANGO instead of MASAGO. Ownership needs more staff or needs to provide better training, because I know I will never be coming back.

Very clean place and the prices were so affordable! Usually kani salads and seaweed salads are a surcharge in other places, but it’s all included here. Highly recommended and would come back on Fridays for sure for their 3 protein $12 deal!

Super aesthetic poke place, loved the new chicken appetizer especially. I got the mild spicy and it was the perfect amount. Super juicy, I usually get taiwanese popcorn chicken from flushing, ny but this is closer and better! love it !!

Ciao Poke totally impressed me with their crispy chicken. I chose the seaweed flavor and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were welcoming and got my order out fast. If you’re not into seafood, the crispy chicken and french fries options are a game changer.

I love that Ciao Poke has so many options—rice or zucchini noodles, proteins from salmon to vegan beef, and tons of mix-ins like mango or garlic chips. The Spicy Tuna bowl I had was fantastic, and the staff were super friendly and quick.
