If you're going to wear a cap in New Jersey, why not wear a San Soo Kap? This is the pretty standard pre-packaged sushi place that is popular but not amazing. It's got one good thing going for it, which is that it's very cheap, and such is the strength of it, but the sushi doesn't taste great and definitely doesn't taste fresh either. There's a lot of great food in Edison and this isn't one of my favourites, but it's still a lot better than some of the sushi crap they're sellinga at grocery stores. But I've had cheap sushi in Manhattan and Chinatown Boston that was incredible, so I know it can taste better than this while still being cheap.

I'm still regretting I got the salmon sushi here!!!! I should have checked this Yelp review before buying their sushi. The salmon tasted so disgusting. They smell and tasted like those non sushi type salmon. Even hmart sushi taste better than their sushi. Ended up have to throw out the whole order. Nightmare!

Their Japanese ramen is plain and without flavor. Udon is slightly better, but again nothing to write home about. Korean style fried chicken wings are probably the best they have

My experience here was horrifying. Skip the wait time to order food Skip the soulless service Let's jump straight to the food itself... The "shoyu ramen" came a little late, not a problem. But the moment I sat down and picked my chopsticks I was sucked into an eternal darkness. Before I realize what was happening I was on my knees, blood was dripping out of my eyes, and I felt something extremely unpleasant entering my mouth. For the next forty minutes the foul ramen-like thingy was literally fisting my throat with random stuff it picked up from a sewer. The worst part was, while kneeing, at the corner of my eye I see the chief smiling at me from behind the counter. The soup was burning my tongue but his gaze shattered my spine. I know at that moment I've consumed the worst ramen that ever ravaged the depth of my memory. That day, a piece of my love for ramen have gone missing. It was truly the worst ramen I've ever had in my entire life. Avoid it like a plague.

Wanted to order sushi off their menu and they said none of the sushi on the menu were available.....=_=! Asked what the chef could make and they said the chef was not there and asked me to pick one of the pre-made sushi, which didn't look fresh at all. Walked out after that.

Horrible food horrible service. The staff is rude and argued with me and wouldn't refund me. Should go out of business. They ruined my afternoon.

I think the quality of the pre-packaged sushi here has dropped since my first visit a couple years ago. The salmon roll I had today looked lovely-- nice stripes of glistening fat-- but was a little stiff/felt like it was getting stale, even though the packaging date was today, and I came for early dinner around 4pm. So, the taste is right, just not the feel-- quite a shame for how beautiful those salmon chunks appear. What hasn't changed is the sweet old lady who is always working the register. She once gave me a free miso soup-- I don't recall why, maybe something with the register being broken so I had to use cash? Also a positive this place's awesome location in H Mart, which makes it a good spot for a quick meal-- and for that it gets the job done. Prices are also fair, and fairly low.

Not a bad option if you're in the mood for some Unagi Don, ramen, or sushi while at H-Mart. Obviously not gourmet food, and perhaps some of the dishes are a little overpriced but they also have some good deals. Each meal comes with a side of house kimchi which has a fresh taste to it (I assume it's not fermented very long). Soup-based items come with an additional side salad, and non-soup items come with a bowl of miso soup. I ordered the chirashi sushi a few days ago and for $13 I found it reasonably priced. The sushi rice was a bit on the hard side, like it had been sitting for a while. The fish was okay, nothing to write home about, and some pieces were poorly sliced. My boyfriend seemed to like his unagi don but lamented that he thought it was a bit too expensive. Our friend got the kimchi ramen and finished his like a champ, proclaiming it really good. So, it's all about the choices you make. The fried chicken they serve looked delicious, so that's on the menu for next time.

This place is actually one of the more popular options in H-Mart's food court. There's pre-made sushi below the shelf with drinks. Their menu has bento-style meals, ramen, udon, a la carte sushi and sashimi, and various special rolls. I can only comment on the Salmon bento ($11.99) and the Miso Ramen ($9.99). The Miso Ramen is actually average in taste, mainly because the miso is very light. I won't say bland, but it's no where as flavorful as Santouka's. Their portions are pretty big, with a good amount of noodles and maybe three slices of pork belly. Like the bento, the ramen comes with a side of kimchi. If only they used more miso, I would've enjoyed this a little more. Their salmon bento was pretty good. The salmon itself was cooked just right and had a sweet glaze on it; it was separate and not on top of the rice, which I appreciated. My bento also came with four slices of California roll, tempura, a side of miso soup, and a side salad. If you're not fond of salmon, there are beef, chicken, shrimp, sushi, and sashimi boxes as well. There's katsudon, unagidon, and other rice dishes if you want something different.

Today I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, $8.99 + tax. The taste is so bland and savorless. Although the place is in the food court, I don't expect the taste is unappetizing. The kimchi (pickle radish) that came with it, taste the same thing. Short to the point; Not recommended
