Dickey's Barbecue Pit

I will never bring going here again. If I want Southern comfort I'll just go across the way to Texas Roadhouse. My boyfriend and I came in on October 13th during the storm. We both order 2 meat plates. The meats on both trays were dry and I was given the wrong meats. They also put the spicy BBQ in the sweet BBQ cups so when I went to use my sauce I had to use Imodium because I have IBS that is triggered by cayenne pepper and chili peppers. When I brought the mix up to their attention they just tried giving me MORE of the contaminated sauces and they refused to fix the meat mix up. Insisting that the meats they gave me were the ones I ordered and they refused to give me a refund.

I’m giving the food 4stars because I enjoyed it however I did not enjoy my service as I felt very uncomfortable ordering my food because when I asked a question about the menu it was as if I was bothering the workers. Whoever was on meat tonight seems to have an issue with women of color and is very dismissive. I have visited this establishment plenty of times before and never felt anything like I did tonight. Whoever the new staff or owners are this is not a good look for business it gives very much Racist. And also they were talking in their language in front of me which is why I felt the need to check my food and my order to make sure everything was right and i know they were talking about me .

This is my third and last time visiting this establishment/location. The first time, about seven months ago, the food was good, but there were a few things that they did on my takeout order, such as putting the Texas toast in the container with the hot meat, making it inedible . The second time I visited, I got all the way home only to find out that one of the three meats in the three meat platter was wrong, so I called and they wanted me to come back, which would have rendered the rest of the meal inedible/cold but I was told to mention it next time I was in which I chose not to do. My most recent visit, Friday, September 12, 2025, I walked in and went to the cash register to place my order and an unfriendly woman pointed me down to the other end of the counter, where I then told a worker what I wanted, which was 2 three meat platters. I told the worker which meats I wanted and then was asked what sides I wanted, so I ordered for my wife, the mashed potatoes with gravy and the baked potato casserole. I was told that they are both the same side (???)so I switched one to mac & cheese. When I got home, I opened up the box and the turkey was cut as thin as you would get it from a deli, the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa was also thin as could be and cut in uneven slices, the brisket had one lump of the end of the roast, cut very thick and very dried out and hard that we could not even chew through it, and the pulled pork was gelatinous because of all of the fat in probably a cheap piece of meat that wasn’t rendered down properly.
Lastly, the woman who rang me up, seemed bothered by having customers, never once smiled, and overall gave me bad vibes as if she couldn’t care less about my purchase. After spending $50 on dinner that we basically could not eat and were unhappy with, I went on Dickeys website and reached out to corporate by providing the information requested, and obviously they couldn’t care less either of me being a customer because as of this review, I have not heard from them at all. I am sure these are franchised, and based on my experience from my first visit to my third visit, they are clearly maximizing profits by giving less meat. If I wanted turkey cut that thin I would have gone to a deli. If I wanted brisket that hard to chew I would have bought some jerky… But apparently this location and dickies corporate don’t care. Stay far away from this establishment as well as the company.

I have doordashed from here twice now. Both times I received delicious food with great portions for the price. Not sure how this place only has 4.1 stars with such excellent food. Highly recommend.

We had the brisket, smoked turkey and a brisket sandwich. All were hot, fresh, and delicious.
The fries have a seasoning that is very good.
The baked beans are nothing special snd reminded me of the ones from a can back when I was a kid.
Allergy-aware eaters: BEWARE!
I asked about the gluten free components and i did not get an answer that made me feel confident in their knowledge.
I was able to look this up on their website, but it would have been reassuring if they had known.
Overall, good experience.

Brisket was great. Could’ve been a little thicker bark for sure but if you’re down in ac heading back to the shore and want good bbq try em out. Friendly service too.

Well to be complete transparent and completely honest the it's a little on the pricey side but I could deal with that if I didn't have to deal with the fact that they make mistakes and do not want to be a professional individuals and correct their mistakes they want to pass the buck off to someone else I spoke to doordash who told me that I would have to speak to the venue that I got my food from regarding the fact that my 4th of July meal was messed up due to them sending us stuff that we cannot eat because we do not eat certain things due to religious reasons I was told by the manager that she would refund me and then once I continue to contact her about a refund after I felt like I was being given us been around and being ducks she then had her employee keep telling me that I had to get with doordash to get a refund and I told her five times that doordash said I would have to speak to the restaurant because it was the restaurant's fault for putting the wrong items in the bag after a week of chasing around with the lady I still have not received my refund and or a phone call back from her herself she keeps screening her calls being unprofessional to be honest I'd rather eat at a place that has less of a quality food but better professional staff that will make things right when they're wrong avoid this place by all cost and I will be reporting him to the better Business bureau

Fast and friendly service; good portion sizes for the price you pay

Brisket and pulled pork were excellent. Macaroni and cheese was meh.

I just wanted to come on here and speak on my experience. It was my first and last time coming here. Me and bf came around 8:22 pm on 5/29/2025. We had came in and already felt rushed when ordering. It was my first time so I was not sure what exactly I wanted. When we were ready, Vicky told us to go to the pit master to order as you cannot order at the register. When we had gone to the guy at the pit master, hes not even taking our order. The point of sale was very unorganized. The whole time it felt as if they were trying to rush us out of there please keep in mind it was still 8:30pm. They don’t close till 9 and today I had asked what time do they close and Vicky tells me 9pm. So why does did the whole interaction the night before feel as if we were the ones who were in the wrong for coming in. We are paying customers so I did not understand the passive aggressive demeanor from Vicky. I was very frustrated with how we were treated and will not be doing business here again. I hope anyone else who goes here does not experience the same experience and gets treated with respect as we are all paying customers. Oh btw the MAC AND CHESSE was not good. “Taste like bowl of cheese” -my bf 🤣 My bf had to put the brisket on top to make it taste like something. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Delicious - that's all I can say

This has to be the second time I write a review about this place . I tried to give it another shot after a year and after speaking with the owner who was very pleasant and apologetic for our first experience , even offered us a sandwich for the inconvenience that we never ended up getting . Unfortunately this experience wasn't pleasant at all mainly because of the service . I ordered a 2 meat plate with 2 sides platter, an extra side and brisket chili for $28 . Keep in mind while the lady at the front wasn't welcoming at all , I asked her for 3 spicy bbq and she said nothing to me and proceeded to put my mac in the bag . After I did my transaction she repeated the sauce to me and I said it's suppose to be 3 spicy bbq she told me I can only get two (which is crazy to me considering I got all that food) . If that was the case why didn't you charge me that while I was paying for my food , and if that's the case why did the the employee that was there last time give me 3 for free? So I told her I would pay for it because I'm not a problematic person it's a sauce I don't care if I had to pay it was the principle of her non - welcoming attitude that she was to busy not listening to what I said or did listen just didn't care . If she really wanted to help me she would've just gave me the third sauce instead of going out her way to charge me again 97 cents just so she can have the last laugh . The employees here have the worst attitude for some reason I don't understand why because when I come in they are never busy , just standing there waiting for a customer . Yes the food is good and it's convenient for me because I love brisket and there aren't any good brisket places near me except for this one which is sad that I actually have to write this but the food can be good and the service just ruins the entire experience .

Ordered there new chili dog and baked potato with fried chicken and got about half of what was shown in the picture. Its actually wildly fake advertisements. Instead I got a few pieces of chicken and the smallest hotdog I've ever seen in my life. Fork for scale in pictures. The pictures they show aren't even close to the real thing it feels almost like a scam for how much they charged. I've ordered here for a few years and normally the food is great and the portions are fair.
