Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

I came in for the free Italian ice with my special needs group. I politely asked the manager if I could show her a picture of my group being that they will make a mess in the store and etc mind you I brought in two or three from the group and staff. The manager told me no that she needs to see everyone. There was an older lady behind the group of us that explained to the worker that she came with someone else and how they couldn’t find parking and he gave her the two Italian ice. The manager and worker were not very pleasant or welcoming and we will never come back to this location ever again. We weren’t trying to get over on them at all but they could have been more understanding especially with the group that we had will us.

Pulled up around 8:45 pm. They were closing at 9:00 pm and turned off the icecream machine already. Many customers left. I think that you shouldn’t say your open until 9 pm if you are going to shut down most things. Terrible customer service.

Absolutely horrible. The service was atrocious, the guy at the counter was unprofessional didn't acknowledge me at all when I said thank you countless times and didn't even try to hide that he'd rather be elsewhere. Also, I ordered two flavors and only got one even though I specified the order. And if that wasn't enough, the gelato tasted expired. I've been going here for years and this time was the last time.

This location is absolutely the worse. This is the second time I’ve come to this location and the workers seem to be confused, can’t make decisions and don’t bother to call someone that can answer basic questions since they can’t answer them. I went to this location and purchased an ice then realized that I have a free ice so I asked to have the free ice in addition to the ice I purchased. I showed them both on my app on my phone that I have a free ice but since they couldn’t see it in their computer which makes no sense they wouldn’t let me get it..they were both confused and unsure of what to do and instead of saying we’re not sure let us call a manager or a supervisor or someone that can figure this out they said sorry you just purchased an ice so we can’t give you a free one. The free ice is for your next purchase. It was not I’ve had it for sometime now but just forgot but I guess they couldn’t figure that out.. never again will I go to this location… I understand these are young people working there but if they don’t know what they are doing there should be someone there that does know what to do or at the very least they should have someone they can call to assist them… the management at this location is lackluster. I asked for my money back since I didn’t touch the ice, it was still on the counter, and took my money to a location that have capable people working there.

Always delicious and refreshing

Walked into the store and a disgusting smell was brought to my nose and it smelled like diarrhea. Concerned about the food if it smelled bad in there

Love to go here with my kids. We always have Gelati with the Watermelon flavor. Their waffle cone with vanilla soft served and rainbow sprinkles is great. The staff is very nice and always take care of us in a timely manner. Good Ice Shop in Englewood.

Don't get me wrong, The ice cream is excellent.But the place has a old musty smell.

My family and I had such a wonderful experience at Rita's! The custard was absolutely delicious – so creamy and wonderfully sweet. What really made the visit special, though, was the customer service; the girl who took our order was incredibly nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

Wonderful spot for custard and shaved ice. The woman is always nice, even when very busy. I drop by with my work mates and we all love the different flavors and it’s a great place to get my sugar rush. Don’t bother with the other low star review. No one has ever been anti-anything to me or my coworkers ever during our visits.

Entitled, impolite people who would accuse clouds of racism because it rained on their birthday. Bless them Lord for we sometimes forget to love one another.

Extremely Disrespectful and Anti Semetic Experience

Earlier today, I visited Rita’s with my family to treat everyone to ices. As an Orthodox Jew wearing a kippah, I was immediately met with hostility by the woman behind the counter — an Asian woman who gave me unmistakably dirty looks the moment I walked in.

When I politely asked for an item on the menu, she handed me a pre-made, stale-looking sandwich from the freezer that looked nothing like what was advertised. When I asked for a different option, she responded with a rude and dismissive remark, showing clear irritation and giving me a hard time for no reason.

Her tone, body language, and general attitude were not only unprofessional — they felt blatantly antisemitic. It was deeply upsetting to be treated this way simply for being visibly Jewish. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any business, especially one serving diverse communities.

I advise other orthodox Jewish families to not visit or contribute money to this store.

Terrible customer service. You’re just another paycheck to them.

You have Kids cleaning out the soft serve machine a whole hour and change before closing hours. I could allow 30mins before close to slide, but an hour + is unacceptable.
Custard is your staple, so when you have people waste time and gas for service such as that it is extremely disappointing.

They left a passive-aggressive note on the delivery bag because of my mom's instructions on the delivery. Not only that but the order we got was completely wrong anyway.
