Stayed a few nights in 2016 very friendly check in, good food, nice room special thanks to the girl who helped me out I think it was Dawn I was there for a funeral so kinda hazy , I rode in on my Harley and open parking wasn’t a problem
Whenever I get back to my Jersey roots I always stay at the American Hotel. The best location and in walking distance to great restaurants, cigar shops, and anything you need. LOVE IT!!!
The Standard at the American Hotel is a cool little gem in Freehold. The menu has a solid variety, and the seafood really stands out. I met up with an old friend and we shared an oyster tower and the burrata, both excellent.
Our server, Rose, really knew the menu and made great recommendations for both food and drinks. She even helped tailor a surf and turf for us. The lobster was outstanding and the steak was just as good. Everything had great flavor and presence.

Based on the reviews, The Standard at The American Hotel is a cool little gem in Freehold. The atmosphere is upscale and fun, with stylish modern interior, bar seating, and outdoor seating. The menu has a solid variety with choices for everyone’s taste buds, from salads and sandwiches to full steak dinners. The seafood really stands out, including an oyster tower and the burrata. Other menu highlights include the French Dip, Chicken and Waffles, shrimp and grits with nice New Orleans flavors, and brie cheese pastry appetizer. For dessert, the apple strudel and Elvis brownie are standouts. The drink selection is strong, with fantastic cocktails and unique drink specials. The service is outstanding, with attentive and polished staff. George, the pianist, is absolutely fabulous, playing all the classics from Billy Joel to Frank Sinatra to Bocelli, making the evening delightful and memorable. Manager Ryan regularly circulates the room and checks in on guests. This is a quintessential adult date night restaurant and a consistently top-notch spot that is always worth returning to.
