I visited them about a week ago and heard great things about their crumb cake. It was a portioned piece from a larger piece. When I got home and tasted the crumb cake I was very disappointed. The crumbs were too dense and I could barely cut the crumb cake because of the density/dryness of the crumbs. Plus the coffee cake itself was very dry and tasteless. I paid about $11-$12 for a dry and tasteless crumb cake. I should have listened to another's comment about Entemann's coffee cake being superior and not waste my money!

This is the best bakery we know of, and still stop in when we are back in the area. B&W is known for their amazing crumb cakes, and prices are reasonable as bakeries go.

This bakery has been a family favorite for years. We visit time and time again for two standouts. the (heavy) crumb cake which is delicious. the second is the cheese twist. A delicious cream cheese filled pastry with a drizzle of glaze. the cake portion is soft and not too sweet. The cheese melts on your mouth. Best bakery around

Despite living in Hackensack for a few years, I only recently started going to B&W, and I sure missed out. Everything that I've tried so far has been great. The donuts are incredible and very reasonably priced at around $1.35. The pecan ring was a big hit on Christmas morning, and someone even took my leftover apple horseshoe another Hackensack culinary gem.

Bottom line: Delicious heavy crumb cake delivered to me as a gift by use of the Goldbelly app/site. Quite a bit of settling occurred with the crumb topping but did not affect how tasty and moist it was, I enjoyed it. The Deets: Some good friends of mine sent me some holiday cheer in the form of B&W Bakery's "Famous Heavy Crumb Cake" as their website states, with delivery by the Goldbelly app/site. Delivery service happened within 48 hours it appears using Goldbelly. Being shipped from NJ to NC, yes, there was some settling that occurred to the cake of course but only noticing that a lot of the bigger crumb pieces (some were quite large!) were concentrated on one side post shipping but I was happy to receive this bakery goodness...see pics. I can see why it's known as "famous" in that it was delicious and actually more moist than I had anticipated it to be after shipping. Perfect to have with a good cup of coffee or some milk, this treat is pretty tasty and see how it earned "famous" indeed. I found it a good holiday treat to enjoy between Christmas and New Year's Day, very thankful of this gift!
